Having too much available credit does not impact your credit score negatively, it actually can help by keeping your credit utilization low however a lender may look at someone with too much...

The new high efficiency furnaces are much better at savings since thy are 90-95% efficient comparing to the older ones 60%, so basically 40% of money spent on heating was a waist.
