This road is a section of Nova Scotia Highway 104, also known as the Trans-Canada Highway, from Masstown, Colchester County, to Thomson Station, Cumberland County. It was built by a private company as a bypass for the old two-lane Highway 4 through Wentworth which was notorious for dangerous driving conditions and was the location of 52 traffic deaths in the last ten years.
i know which one you mean. the hubby's favorite sister (the one that chased him thru the outhouse), she was killed in an intersection on that highway. i think the intersection was near wentworth. she had 2 kids and i can't remember if they were in the car at the time. if i remember the story right, her and the other driver died, in a headon.

NS... Sorry husband is being a butt.

Husband got the Christmas stuff out today, much to my chagrin. We have a huge lot of stuff we put out every year, and he doesn't realize what a pain in the a** it is to keep the kiddos out of it. I'd rather we put it up on Dec. 15 and took down 3 days after Christmas. If the kids were older, I'd put it up early... I love it all too, but with little ones it is so much work!

Hope you are all having a lovely evening. It is snowing so hard here I cannot see the other houses, almost can't see cars on our street. Pretty deep too. DH has already banned me from even trying to shovel. YAY! LOL
roflmao, next year with 2 more kittens underfoot, he'll put it up xmas eve

DON'T U DARE LIFT A SHOVEL! i will let you sweep steps off with a broom, but NO SHOVELLING. absolutely NOT. you can't be that crazy?

I am doing something up for your two kittens before i send those lamps i should have it out by monday or tues, if i don't spend all day shovelling. it's noting big, just something i'm working on

lol, do you knit? if so, if you got a fax # pm me it, i got the most gorgous dress knit pattern, would look awesome on the kittens. but i got no patience for such things.

OMG if we had that much snow people here would be freaking out--like Treble said if we have snow flurries the grocery stores are flooded with folks buying milk & bread--that's a running joke here with all the weather forecasters. It was really cold this morning, 17 degrees--checked on conversion website & was showing -8.33 celsius.

I started taking meds for ADD 3 years ago and it helped a bit but I'm also on anti-depressants and a few months ago I started taking bi-polar meds. I haven't been diagnosed as bi-polar but the meds seem to work. I've been on anti-depressants for over 6 years and I still haven't found the right meds or dose. It's a long road, I'll probably have to take meds for life and I accept that.
Sorry to hear about your health issues. I know what it's like to take meds for life (I've had a couple of organ transplants).

My friend gets the same way with the lists. Only now, she schedules a time to make lists into her list. The list thing started when she was in hospital & a routine was established. Not much else to do in hospital, once you're starting to feel better, so this became a way to pass time. She's been doing this now for 10 years, and still has times when she's overwhelmed. I call her on a certain day each week (it's in the list) & I help her revise her list or figure out how best to deal with something that disrupts the routine.

The other thing I suggested to her that really helped was getting a pet. She started off with a budgie, & the routine of having to take care of him really helped her to focus.

    Hope you're doing well.

Oh no So sorry to hear about that From what I read, it was a pretty nasty area. They don't have any services on that 43 km stretch either so they are looking at having a few put in. Sounds like a pretty scary drive if you ask me. It's on top of a mountain!

Yeah, pretty well woke up to the same fookin' shiat here too It's just a very light dusting right now but the winds are suppose to pick up. I called my 10:30am veteran and he told me not to go in today. I switched him to tomorrow. I have one at 1pm but he just lives across the road, one house over so I can walk if I have to! He said he'd pick me up too!!! I told him I was pretty sure I could make it there!

Petite I know today is a really hard day, but try to focus on good memories & stay busy. I usually try to do something special for myself & think of it as a present from my Mom. Huggs

I had a reception job for a while and that was my problem... sitting at the desk drove me NUTS! I'd think of any excuse to get up and walk around. So, what did i do right after? A call center job! LMAO... and thats so much worse because your breaks are monitored. I always have to learn the hard way and give everything a try... just some of the many jobs i've tried over the years: pet groomer, support worker for developmentally disabled, receptionist, customer service rep, esthetician, bartender, freelance photographer.... I'm 32 and still trying to find myself so dont feel bad Rose.. you've got time

I'm so lucky in kingston.. alot of the blizzards roll right past us. We barely have any snow on the ground and haven't had a blizzard yet.

I was driving up to Myrtle beach a few years back with my mother.. the year of the big snow storm.. and everyone was freaking out. Nobody had shovels - they were outside in a panic trying to shovel up the snow with rakes. My mom and I laughed so hard!
