That my pregnancy continues to go well. I saw two of my specialists on Monday and both of them were happy with my progress and wanted me to come back in 4wks time (at 35wks). Little boy is head down and active.

I am thankful to have gotten my flyers this week for the first time in 6 weeks. I'm sure the person who now delivers them doesn't like me much because I have called every week for the past 6 weeks to report to the company that I haven't been getting them...lol...but even though I can see them online here at SC, I'm still an old-schoolgirl at heart. I need to see the pages for myself and feel them between my fingers and circle stuff that I want to buy or PM and, well, that is very hard to do with your laptop. By the way, anyone know how to get Sharpie marker off a computer screen???

I think many of us have plenty to be thankful for, but most of us don't realize it until you don't have it anymore.
Last March I had an independent 76 year old Mom who lived with us. She went out shopping on her own on the bus, shoveled the snow out of the driveway for exercise, cooked supper for us most nights. Sometimes she repeated herself during conversations, or went out and bought groceries that we didn't need.
She fell and broke her hip on St. Patricks Day, and since having it repaired, she's been so confused that she can't be left alone. She's been in the hospital every since, secured in a wheelchair because she doesn't remember she can't get up and walk around. She doesn't remember where she is. Sometimes she calls me in tears because of something that's happened in her head; earlier this week, she was crying because she'd been 'locked in the basement all afternoon, calling for help.' (of course she was not in any basement, I was there with her). Now she's waiting for a nursing home bed. The wait time is about six months, she's about halfway through.
Sure wish I still had a Mom who repeated herself occasionally and bought stuff we didn't need.

Zonny, I so terribly sorry. It seems to happen all to quickly. I hope she will get into a nuring home even sooner. She may feel more comfortable there and be more relaxed. It's a terrible thing to watch. My dd works with the elderly daily and I watch her cry when one of her clients turns for the worse like this and they can't carry on the same daily routine they used to.
I'm sending my best wishes to your mom, you and your family. May God bless you all.We all need a little sunshine every now and then

And on that note, I'm thankful to have my memory, my family and my friends. I wish you all good health and happiness.

Today I'm thankful for friends here on SC To be able to talk to one another, give advise, get advise, or just to be a shoulder to lean on in a time of need or when you're feeling down.
I get upset when I see posts that say SC is a bunch of people all from wonderland where everyone is sappy. I've met many people that I consider my friends here. Friends talk to each other, help each other out, rant to each other, and cry with each other. I begining to think that the people that make these type of posts are the ones that need the most hugs.We all need a little sunshine every now and then

I'm so very thankful that my BIL - my oldest sister's husband - is home and doing fairly okay.
He suffered a huge stroke about a month ago, a very rare type (not typical warning signs either), and was in the hospital for a long stay, then was at a rehab centre. He's 67.
He'll be able to stay home and attend rehab during the week.
Most of his memory is back, he has some trouble getting around, but is left permanently blind in one eye.
I'm thankful my sister is amazing to have held up so well, with the help of her three sons and their wives helping her out with everything. A few of my siblings have travelled to see them, but I will be unable to. I've kept in close touch with her by phone and puter.
She used to be a nurse, so that's an extra bonus there as well.
Things can change in an instant. This was an extra wake-up call for everyone in my family to make sure we are thankful for every little blessing in our lives.
