Happy Friday Jr Q sters,
Bring out your skates, as the Leafs won't be the only ones skating on the ice. Freezing rain expected this morning before temps rise to 16 degrees. Enjoy the day of warm weather, as we're back in the cold for the weekend.

Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are?
You just said it dummy , if it twinkles it's a star.
The simplest way to differentiate between planets and stars is by observing whether the object is twinkling or if it remains bright. Stars twinkle, while planets are brighter and do not shimmer. Planets can have a slight color to them as well, unlike stars, which are white.Last edited by rock lobster; Thu, Apr 12th, 2018 at 07:44 AM.

[QUOTE=kenrod;6885011]Has anyone noticed the bright light in the western sky after sunset? That is the planet Venus.
Shortly after Venus sets, around 9:30 these days, if you look in the eastern sky, Jupiter will be rising. Although not as bright a Venus, Jupiter is still bright enough to distinguish it from the stars.
Also, in the morning, before sunrise, Jupiter will be in the southwestern sky. Look further east, and you will see two more planets. Yellow Saturn, and red Mars. Those planets appear to be close to each other (from our vantage point). If you keep track of Mars this year, it will grow brighter as the weeks pass. This summer, Mars will be closest to Earth in 15 years. This is due to the orbits of Mars being closer to the sun, and Earth being furthest away from the Sun.
Now all you have to do is explain to the women in the crowd which way is east!
