Was seeking perfect oatmeal cookies and tried these http://allrecipes.com/recipe/25086/o...in-cookies-ix/
They turned out dry and crunchy like granola bars (there is truly loads of oatmeal in this recipe). He was not impressed: "Is this one of your Nazi recipes?" lol. They all got eaten and they were good in their own way but this was a FAIL.

Dutch Apple Cake as cupcakes (no icing). The cake batter tasted like the Dr. Oetker Pudding Supreme English Toffee flavour (all that sugar and some cocoa).
I did make one rosemary focaccia and recall eating almost of all it by myself (sea salt and dried rosemary fan here).2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Well I found a decent oatmeal cookies recipe in my 1967 Purity cookbook.
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup lightly-packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup oats
1 cup raisins
1/4 cup milk
36 cookies, 10-12 minutes 400 degrees
lol I made 12 cookies, 20 minutes and they still weren't as big as the grocery store. Old times!
These ones are crispy-chewy-cakey, and spread.

( from scratch ) 24 corn bread ( stuffed ) muffins. Filled each muffin batter well with cut up all beef hot dogs. These go so good with chili made from soaked dry beans, such an economical meal(s).

Two dozen chocolate chip cookies, this past weekend. I think they're all gone now, after four adults and two children under 10!

I spent a lot of time in the kitchen today.
6 dozen molasses oatmeal chocolate chip cookies - this morning 1/2 for my brother's family, the rest for my family and wrapping some for the freezer.
2 dozen drop biscuits - late this afternoon as part of supper
2 dozen banana muffins - I just pulled out of the oven - great snack for all of my young children. I'll be putting some in the freezer.Help me out with Swagbucks and we can both earn gift cards and PayPal money

I had just stuck a 9x13" pan of apple rhubarb crisp and a 8x8" pan of blueberry crisp in the oven 30sec before the power went out. I was concerned, but it only lasted a few minutes. Now they are cooling and I'll have to find people to feed some of it to.

I made a fruit loaf by making banana bread and subbing out the bananas for a 796ml bottle of plums in light syrup, mashed.
Definitely nicer on the second day as the flavours really begin to blend in.

I made Strawberry Rhubarb jam today.
3 cups chopped strawberries
3 cups chopped rhubarb
1 1/2 cups sugar
Bring to a boil, stirring often. Lower heat low to medium and continue at a gentle boil for 20-30 minutes or until desired consistancy. Stir frequently. Cool and enjoy.
