This morning i made the dough for Gingersnaps. You can also use this recipe to make gingergread cookies.

    GINGERSNAPS

    1 cup molasses
    1 cup white sugar
    1 cup butter or shortening
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tbsp ginger
    1 tsp allspice
    1 tsp salt
1 tbsp baking soda, dissolved in small amount of water
    about 2 3/4 cups flour

Heat molasses to boiling point add sugar. Remove from stove, add butter or shortening and dissolved soda; cool. Add egg. Sift dry ingredients and stir in. (add more flour, ginger, and allspice if needed) Allow o stand in refrigerator for 24 hours. Chill and roll out (1/8 inch). Cut into desired shapes or roll as for refrigerator cookies. Bake at 375F until golden brown. Do not grease cookie sheet.

I am making kale chips a whole new way! ( new for me that is )

I followed this You Tuber's recipe.....

I did not brush as much of the mixture onto the leaves though, just a scant swipe all along each leaf because of the hot spices that are in it. Hope they turn out good. It'll probably take 6 hours to dry out the 7 trays I filled.

There were 8 trays after all, took 4 and a 1/2 hours to dry out completely. Family loves the spice, but sadly I can't take it, one or 2 chips and I'm out! ha ha

Today I was preparing a streusel. I want to cook a traditional German treat. This is a very tasty pastry, something like a muffin, only a yeast pastry. Today I added candied fruits to the dough, it turned out interesting. I also want to try it with chocolate. Still, if you want to cook something new for Christmas, you need to try the recipes in advance.

I did up a batch of the Pompochkey @SnowFlakey but only rolled and baked these many......placed the remaining dough in the fridge, hopefully I'll finish baking them later today.

This recipe for Mars Bars Rice Krispies i received from someone i met a couple of years ago and she brought it for me to try. It is very chocolatey and the grandkids loved it when i made it last Christmas. Hope you like it also.

    MARS BARS RICE KRISPIES

    4 Mars Bars
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
    3 1/2 cups rice kriskpies

Melt Mars Bars and butter for 1 1/2 minutes in the microwave. Add cereal and mix together. Pat down in 8 x 8 inch or 9 x 9 inch pan (i used a 9 x 13 inch pan). Melt 1 bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips in microwave and spread on top of cereal mixture. Chill until set and cut into small bite-size squares.
