I haven't been doing to much of anything in the way of cooking or baking, but yesterday dh said he had a special request, he asked for burgers for dinner
I didn't see how that was so special, and told him so. He then proceeded to tell me if I made stuffed burgers, and then served them on pretzel buns, it would be amazing. That's where the special request came in, but since it wasn't that warm out yesterday, I decided to oblige him. So I made 14 pretzel buns, and he was a happy camper last night

OMG...you have never had pretzel buns!!! They are brown like a pretzel on the outside, and have the coarse salt on them (if you want) and soft and a yellowish on the inside. First you boil then, just like you would a bagel, then you bake them, and they puff more when you bake them. I didn't take a pic of the ones I made for dh the other day, but I did post a pic a while ago of when my grandson wanted to make some, so the two of us did. Here is what they look like when they're done:
They are actually pretty easy to make and they go a lot quicker than making bread or other buns.

Last weekend was Oat and Honey bread (First time came out pretty good
- used agave instead of honey), Banana Walnut Bread and some really terrible granola bars (didn't harden
) This weekend was more Banana Walnut Bread but added chocolate chips :D

Technically not baked as it doesn't go in the oven, but I just made fudge! I consider that 'baking'
Will see how it turns out. Used some of my free chocolate bars from SDM.

I think I will join this conversation. On Saturday I decided to do some baking since the Lions were going to be home ( my boys) so I baked a sweet potatoe pudding, and baked a cheese cake.
cheese cake:
1 pk cream cheese
1 tub of cottage cheese
2 eggs
lime juice
lime rime
1/4 cup of condense sweet milk,
vanilla extract
a pinch of nutmeg
Blend cheese with mixer, add eggs , then milk and remaining ingredients. Mix until smooth,
Pour into crust (bought cheese cake crust at $ store $1.99)
Bake at 200 degrees for about 15 min. Let cool, add some sour cream on top, and top off with your favorite pie filling , I used cherry filling)
Family is enjoying it.Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase

Oh wow, those look good! I haven't baked with yeast or recipes where you have to roll the dough out in years but I think it may be in my future. I found a recipe for this on allrecipes and saved it to my recipe box - although your picture looks better than the one in the recipe
Thanks for educating me about pretzel buns - if I ever see them in a bakery, I will definitely try one!

Must have been a cheese cake weekend..I made a cheesecake/pie using the FPC Philly Chocolate Cream Cheese. I didn't have graham cracker crumbs, so I used the food processor to crumble some Peak Freans Bran crunch, mixed with butter, etc and baked in a pie plate..then the first layer was the chocolate cream cheese mixed with icing sugar, etc..second layer chocolate pudding finished with more cool whip with chocolate shavings on top. It was super rich but yummy! Cheesecake is my absolute favourite dessert!
