    Hello...
I noticed that you do some knitting! AND that you have a 2-year old neice!

    Well, Hon...here's the problem.
I'm searching for a pattern for a pair of mittens to knit for our 2-year old grandson, and the one I just used turned out too big. Now I can handle 4 needles, but I much prefer using 2.
Have you come across a pattern that works for mittens for that age?

As for scarves...I've kntted dozens of 'em! LOL!
Particularly quick are the ones I did using one strand of fun-fun with 1 strand of a metalic yarn (if you want the name I could find it for you..it's at Michaels)...use them together using 6mm needles, about 20 stitches until 2 balls of each yarn is used up and you'll have a gorgeous scarf!!
I made one for each of the care-workers where my Mother was in a nursing home, as Christmas gifts and they absolutely loved them.
They look like they take a long time but you can knit one up in a day!
Oh...and it's just straight garter stitch, since the stitch doesn't really show.
    They are so beautiful!!!

    Toodles...and I hope you have a mitten pattern...if not..my sleuthing continues..

Knitting is definately not my area, I actually picked up a knitting machine at a yard sale to see if I could actually enjoy it and it even frustrated me, lol. I hope someone reads your post and sends you the needed pattern Lynn. Last year I cheated and cut a pattern out of an old knitted sweater and sewed it together so my granddaughter would have pink mittens quickly. If I had knitted them she would still be waiting..... I have crocheted 3 barbie outfits in the last couple of evenings wish my camera worked I would post as they are so cute.

    Thank you Tidy.
When our DD was into Barbies, one Christmas I spent oh, weeks sewing all manner of clothes for them. I wrapped them individually in saran wrap and sealed them by putting a warm iron on the ironingboard, then placing the seams on the hot spot to seal them...lol...oh, yes! FAR too much time on my hands...hahaha!! Now...dust off that knitting machine! It's only 4 months till Christmas!

I have great craft idea's in my head and sketch it out [I can't draw to save my life... my poor stick people are feetless -.-] my sister and are having another yardsale this weekend to raise money for buying our beading/jewellery supplies[ pliers, cutters, etc etc we're guess we need $200-$400]. I've never created anything like crafty but i'm hoping in time I'll get good at it. We want to open a shop on etsy selling aprons, jewellery, soaps and candles. Fingers crossed lol.

Just realized I forgot to post a pic of the pearl bracelet I made to celebrate my friend's promotion. The first pic is the white freshwater pearls with silver plated clasp. She loved it, especially the clasp.

The other pictures are a b-day present I gave another friend a couple of weeks ago. The first shows the original charm (D's a huge murder mystery buff & LOVED the cuffs). The next is how I rejigged the cuffs with some chain & the last is D modelling the cuffs on a necklace (yes, D spent too much time gardening that day ).

Andit, they are all beautiful! Love that heart toggle clasp! Do you get your parts from somewhere like Micheal's or online somewhere?

There's a part of town here called Queen West (literally Queen St West) which has all sorts of pretty boutiques. On the eastern end of the boutiques, there are a lot of stores that sell fabrics (the area is called the Fashion District). There are a few little shops that have lovely little gemstones & everything you need to make pretty jewelry (my neighbour introduced me to them, I somehow never realized they were there!). The prices are decent, although a bit higher than I'd likely find online, but since I'm still new to this, I like to see & explore in person. The danger lies in going into one of these stores & not leaving for hours, just looking at all the pretty things.

I've made a few more pieces. I'll have to post some more pics either later today or tomorrow, once I actually take them.

OK, finally got around to taking some more pics.

First necklace is aventurine (dark green round beads) & jade (lime green long cylinder).

Second neckace is aventurine (orangish rectangle), jasper (brown diamond) & gold plated balls.

Third bracelet is copper coloured pearls.

Fourth necklace & bracelet set is a stone called Dalmation jasper (yes, because of the spots just like the doggy!).

    Fifth necklace is picture jasper.

The last necklace is turquoise blocks and silver plated balls.

& I am having a lot of fun with this! My fear of the pretty gemstones is lessening, as you can tell.

I've taken the plunge and decided to open an etsy shop as well...I'm not too sure if I am going to make any sales but I love to knit (especially for my kids and nephew and niece...). I'm struggling with taking good pictures for now. Any feedback is much appreciated.

I spent the day at a bead show. So many pretty things, so little money. Although I did break down & buy a few amethyst & garnet beads. Not sure what they will become yet, waiting for inspiration to strike.

This is one of my new fav gemstones, Labradorite. I'm a sucker for grey.

Ugh, I just noticed I need to de-cat the mat beneath the beads.
