I'm going to get some dragon leaf begonias next season. They're so pretty, both colours. I've never had them before, prolly cos I go for $1 and clearance, and i believe dragons are "premium annuals" sometimes it's worth splurging a little bit.

They come in individual 3" pots. I found a new grower who has them for $3 each, yahhooo. I have not seen them in a big box place yet, only direct on the farm or at a nursery. I think for the display they give $3 is well worth it. If I have to plant other things in my big pots it would cost me just a much for flats.

Panaramic view of back yard. My potted plants aren't where I want them, my dh seems to think the outdoors should swept as much as indoors and he moves them around. I just had back surgery and cant move them myself. But irs a darn good place to recover. Name: 20130827_102232.jpg

The most serious gardening I do would seem very strange to an onlooker, for it involves hours of walking round in circles, apparently doing nothing." --Helen Dillon

Gojays I brought one of my dragon wings from the backyard in a smaller pot (about 1.5 gallon) to compare with the ones in the larger pots (about 4 gallon) and in partial sun. The one from the back is full shade. It's a stunning difference.

Holy cow! Mine is just piddly.. lol
However, I did purchase a different kind of begonia, it has little double flowers on it, really pretty, that that thing just flourished this summer. It was basically in full shade on the patio. I'll have to take a picture of it but having computer issues so won't be able to upload til issues are resolved.

    Looks like this one...

I planted butternut squash last year and again this year. This is the first year that I have squash on these plants. They are about the size of a baseball right now.

Things flowering in my yard right now are: butternut squash, spaghetti squash, zucchini, dill, beefsteak tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, and peas (second planting).
