Yay, YOU!!!!! Such great news, 22Hicks!!
Yep, our muscles and tendons do a whole lot of R&R-ing while we're recuperating...take it easy, gentle exercises..
....had to laugh...even with my broken leg and 2 years of recovery, no one ever took my driving license away from me!! Isn't that weird?! I just started driving again when I felt I could handle any emergencies like fast stopping, etc....wow. They sure weren't messing around with you, were they?

Thanks guys.
It'll feel great to have my freedom back, and take control of my life again.
I just got up from a looong nap, and I'm still tired.
Bet I'll sleep well tonight, at least i hope.
Lynn, was it your right leg too? If so, that's weird.Last edited by 22hicks; Wed, Feb 17th, 2016 at 04:54 PM.

Yes, it was, Hicks....took the top right off my tibia, and crushed the outside of my knee (my surgeon said she was "digging out eggshells for quite a while")...3 surgeries later...that's why I'm still not quite right (physically! I mean....). And to top it off, she said, at my last appointment, "It's still a mess in there." Which is why I'm so looking forward to my knee replacement: I'm sure the doc will make it all better. He'd better!
Yes, quite the coincidence...are you right-handed, too? I wonder if that's why we tend to fall on that side? A sort-of self-saving thing people do because they feel they can better handle the fall on their dominant side...takes only a split second, I think, to make that decision.
Or not.
Feel free to ignore me.

I shouldn't complain considering all you've been through, and still have yet to go through.
I'm so sorry for that.
Yes, VERY right handed. That's a good thought. It makes sense that our dominant side would be the one we'd reach out with, but I don't think it's a conscious decision we make, but a subconscious one.

You're so damn right @walkonby
You should see the list I've started of all the places I have to go, or plan on going.
It's already filled 2 pages.

I'm glad everyone seems to be doing good.
I'm feeling a bit better, gout pain is down by about 80%.
I don't know why but I really want to make another faux apple pie. Uses crackers instead of apples lol. But tastes just like apple pie.

@walkonby Here's the timmins food bank. The stickers on the shelves tell you how many points it takes. 2 people walk through with you. One person puts the items into your reusable bags and the other keeps track of how many points you have used. (They sometimes go over the 15 points )

I'm so glad for you, Hicks!
Should feel so much better without the full cast, and soon
you can kiss cabin fever goodbye, and get out!
Would love to take a peek at that bucket list of yours, maybe
I could join you on an outing?
BTW, the Westminster Dog Show is on TSN until midnight.

Hicks, that's wonderful!
You could go to Dunedin to see the Blue Jays!
CM - my DH has to fight uric acid which causes gout. He takes plain old sodium bicarbonate ( at the suggestion of his doctor) and it works! Maybe you could ask your doctor if that might help.
Lynn, just got my fingers crossed that your knee surgery gets scheduled soon so your summer won't be impacted!
Got an e-mail today from another couple I will be marrying this summer. I guess St. Valentine's day turns our minds to love !
I will sleep in the basement again tonight until I am sure I have kicked this cold down the road.
Take care everyone!
