Lynn, so sorry to hear of your loss.

Well, I tried for the last hour to get to sleep, but it's a no go. Got up to snuggle a kitty, have some juice, and take some Tylenol. I have a hurt foot that even my husband's massage couldn't help. It's not serious, but just bothersome.
I'm sleepy, so sure wish I could just pass out when I need to!

Just heard we'll have an Alberta clipper blowing in later; so much for spring!

Good morning!!
It's our DD's 39th birthday this morning, so our Grandson and I just phoned her and on speaker phone, sang happy birthday to her! So much fun.....she has a dollar store tiara and will be wearing it to breakfast and thru the day... Sounds like her group is having a blast..

This getting up early with a 7-yr old is tiring!! Do all 7-yr olds hit the ground 'running'?! I had to think of an original superhero this morning, it's powers and what it looked like! More.....coffee....required.....

Have a lovely day, even though it's a "brisk" day. I'd call it back-stabbing, horrible, trick by old man winter. Only up to 0 today. He should get lost already!

Horrid start to the day in Belgium with terrorist attacks in Brussels - I guess this crap is neverending...

We got less snow than predicted, but it's yucky to wake up to -15 windchill anyway.

Foot is in the same horrible pain - supposed to rest it, but can't do that all the time. You know, life....

How awful for you, that your foot is still in so much pain...what's causing that, Nat? Do you apply ice or heat to relieve the pain? I'd have hoped it would be better today...

Busy sewing day: a pink satin tablecloth and black and white polka-dot napkins...the appy and dessert napkins are also that pattern, so I figured..it'll work! I love the silliness of girl-parties...even if there will be 3 other boys there..

Such sad news out of Brussels this morning, however...sign of the times, I imagine, but wish it weren't so.

So, it's a very cold day IMHO. I had to turn up the heat this morning. Some in this house keeps on turning it down & it's not me. So once again it is treatment Tuesday for me. However,,,,,I found out last week that the drug company is withdrawing the study. I am on the last official prescribed dose of this medication. I am apparently the last person left at PMH on the study. It has been so brutal to tolerate this drug. Other people had complications & terrible side effects on this "stuff". So what this means for me at this point, I don't know. It has been keeping the tumours in my lungs from growing, so it has been "working" for me. I thought that things were just falling into place at the hospital with only having to go down there once a month. So, my doc was going to advocate for me & request that the drug be supplied to me on compassionate grounds & that's where I stand for now. I am hopeful they will be on board & agree to supply me with the drug, so I can continue on with the treatment. If not, I guess we'll have to try another approach to this dilemma. KPT-330 has had some really awful side effects. I have medication for the nausea that is OK. Sometimes it works, sometimes it's not all that effective. I have to take other drugs too. Sometimes I feel like a walking pharmacy. I'm still leading a relatively normal life, I just tire very easy. I have to keep on believing & keep the faith.

So I guess, I'll be emailing my nurse today to see where it stands.

Oh, Loocie, how wretched that the drug company can just pull a drug away from someone when it's helping them and bring a study to a close earlier than anticipated! I pray that you'll continue to be supplied with that medication particularly since it's been working so well for you...to do otherwise would just be too inhumane! But....it's a drug company not a social agency, so the bottom line is money not compassion, unfortunately. I do hope everything works out in your favour, Hon.
