Hicks, I am so sorry to hear about your sister. Thoughts and prayers coming your way. Be careful on the roads in the next couple of days.
My brothers are both younger than I am. I have experienced both of them being really and sometimes critically ill. There is such a desperate feeling about a loved one being in danger.

Hello all. I thought I'd give you an update on my DS.

Ok, here's the summary; she has 2 stents, and 2 balloons, which had to stay in, and they've reattached the artery. She has fluid around her heart, and it's infected. So along with i.v. antibiotics, she's on 6 other medications.
Her arteries were not blocked, no plaque, but what happened is that an artery actually separated from the left side of her heart, and she was bleeding internally. (I've never even heard of this)
Once the infection is under control, and she's recuperated sufficiently, they have to go back in. So, at least one more operation.
At the moment, her prognosis has improved to 25% survival.

I'll tell you, she damn well better, or else.
I buried my DH on Dec. 7th, and I refuse to bury my DS in Dec.

Oh, Hicks! That's a very unusual occurance. Glad that they have been able to diagnose what is wrong and are "throwing the kitchen sink" at it! I'm virtually holding your hand. Time and her will to push through this will be critical in aiding the doctors' efforts. Sending you all the best!

I have found the snow brush and small snow shovel that I keep in the car. It is a bright, though cloudy day because of the snow on the ground. PSW and nurse have come and gone - laundry is almost done - supper is planned - had a long talk with an old friend with whom I haven't spoken in a while. She's a very funny lady - so that was a smile to add to the day.

DH is snoozing and I, myself, am feeling a little tired although I slept well.

Maybe I will lay out all the pre-purchased Christmas gifts and figure out for whom I have to buy what so that if anything comes up on the "Black Friday" sales, I can take advantage of them.

Our grand-daughter got to see her first (well first where she might understand) Santa Parade yesterday. Little rosy cheeks in a snow-suit!
