I'd vote for the Marijuana party!
I had a chat with my local Postie today about the election while picking up my mail. He said he was voting for Trudeau because he doesn't think women should have access to guns and Trudeau wants to disarm Canadians. OMG! Are you serious?Just call me Wolfie

But OMG on your postie's views, shows you what people believe though

i think people are stuck with this walmart mentality that things are cheap... and fail to realize that each item costs $$ of the items when your buying the stuff to make it...
i've been asked to sew things for people but they do a little bit of a gag when i tell them how much fabric costs when not getting it on super clearance to make the things they wantWhen life hands you Edward Cullen...throw him back and demand Eric Northman....

When you want to order just 1 or 2 things online but the price are so appealing that you finish by broken budget but I dont spoil myself too much so for Christmas present I guess it worth it.

I hate it when people pull the make it for virtually free routine.I've gotten the "I'll buy the materials" line before-no thanks.I used to do bead work, with seed beads using the Peyote stitch technique.1 friggen bead at a time, selected carefully for size as they're rather uneven and about the size of a pin head.A co-worker spotted my lighter cover and wanted one for herself, different design of course. When I told her $40. she said she thought she could just buy the beads, and I could keep the leftovers as payment.Beads are about $5.,the left overs are the uneven, wonky ones (which I usually throw on the floor as I'm going) and it takes about 20 hours. She declined my offer of lessons so she could do it herself-sounded too hard and fussy.
That was o.k. with me,I didn't really feel like making more-it's hell on the carpal tunnel syndrome, and I wanted a break.

The first thing MIL said to me when I announced I was pregnant was that she wasn't going to knit me anything for free....I was surprised since I was and still am capable of knitting my own baby layette..
I would only ask some-one if the skill level was above mine* but would ensure I paid for all materials and a stripend for thier time..
* enutheastic amateur at best in most cases...
Short answer : no Long answer : NOOOOOOOOOOO!

It's really starting to chap me seeing posts online about people complaining that Christmas merchandise is going up in October. (Not directed at anybody here! Just in general!)
Do you know how much crap there is go get out? Do you know how long it takes to basically completely rearrange large portions of a store to fit all the incoming holiday stuff? And then to put signs and shelf labels up? As soon as you think you've got it all up, more comes in on another delivery. And then you have to rearrange everything already on the sales floor to fit it all... again.
Basically, from mid October, overworked and underpaid employees spend their whole shifts every day working their butts off to get it all out and pretty so that in November when you're feeling the Christmas spirit, it's all out and ready for you. If we didn't start in October, it would never be ready in time. There's just too much to do.
We are not 6'2 'elves' named Buddy and this is not Gimbals. We cannot magically transform a store overnight from Halloween spooks to Holiday Magic. They have to overlap. Sorry that this ruins your life.
Next time you're in a store and want to make a comment about how it's wrong in one way or another to have Christmas things out before [Halloween, Remembrance Day, November, whatever]... do us all a favor and zip that lip. Someone's been working their patoot off and all they have to show for it is customers making snarky comments and glitter scratching up their retinas, in their hair, in their cleavage...
