J&C - made the recipe you posted for the Cinnabon cake. It's yummers! I can only have a bit because there is so much sugar and marg in it! I used only 1/2 the icing amount, too - I knew it would be too much for us. Husband loves it too - and he can have as much as he wants because he need to gain more weight!!

Glad you both liked it but yes super sweet, perhaps call your son over to help you out and send him with a doggie bag. I haven't froze it but perhaps give it a try.

I have been looking at this recipe for a while!!!When the cake cools do you think is sturdy enough to wrap up for lunches for school or is it too gooey. Sounds delicious.

Mine was study but the top is gooey, I sent my youngest with some in his lunches

Morning everyone,

I was busy going through my closet on Saturday morning when my folks called and wanted to treat the boys and I to a nice lunch at our favorite Chinese restaurant and chauffeur us around for some errands that needed to be done (dh is away until early October).

Anyways I went threw my linens while dh was gone as I know him so well...hhmmm....he would want to bring this stuff to the cottage and I was not having this stuff kick around until god knows when and it is not needed at the cottage thank you very much . So I called FIL to come over Sunday morning to take this stuff to the re-use it centre and out of my hair . I tell ya it felt good as there where multiples of sheets both summer and winter that were not needed. So now I now have the top shelf of my tiny closet back .

Our visit with my parents was great and we all had a wonderful time but glad when the visit was over as my dad was starting to get grumpy .

My parents are going to come again on Wednesday for my birthday and my mom told my ds2 what she got me for my birthday and he is like I do not know how you are going to use this???? I don't expect gifts, I am probably the worst person to shop for as I don't want or really need anything, I'm what I refer to as a simpleton I don't have tons of gadgets and I use items for multi purpose, so now I'm curious.

Yesterday I spent a good part of my afternoon transferring recipes from my old cookbook/notebook which is completely full and looks like it belongs in the trash to my new one which is a notebook with tabs from the dollar store and it's got a plastic cover which is awesome as you it won't get wet and sticky and can be wiped down.

Todays plan are to go over the bank account online and create October's budget, I will go over with dh when he gets back, I will be increasing the grocery budget as the amount I allotted for September was sadly not enough as the sales have been pretty crappy in my opinion, I say where's the beef????

That's why I baked it yesterday - Milan's coming for supper tonight and will go home with at least 1/2 the cake! I hope to do some cookies today, too - plus extra cooking for him to take.

I've got a busy day planning - but, as always, I have to really space things out. Yesterday, by evening I was such a mess because of everything I had done. I really, really dislike being so limited - even something so small as like, I swept leaves off the front deck - and looked longingly at the leaves on the lawn, wishing I could go rake them up! But the sweeping was more than enough for my arms and my back, gah!

Small steps!

I want to make that cake so badly but I know what will happen. Hubby might eat one piece and I`ll devour the rest. (that infernal sweet tooth of mine!) I lost 5 pounds over the summer...no time for snacking...and another 10 when my back was giving me grief. I`m going to try to keep it off but I know it`s going to be hard.

@ Natalka I hear ya re having to space things out. Depending what I do,I work 1/2 an hour and have to rest for the next hour. What I call a day`s work someone else could accomplish in a couple hours.

Natalka glad that Milan will have some yummy cake and other treats too. I'm glad you know your limits and don't over do it as it always catches up. Remember tomorrow's another day my dear. And besides if you don't rake the leaves they will be broken down over the winter and less to rake up in the spring.

Hiya everyone,

I'm taking it easy today and feeling very lazy but heck that's allowed.

I'll start supper around 130pm this way I know it will get done and then just need to warm up before the kiddos get home. I posted my meal plan but forgot to write it down for myself (brain fart) so anyways tonight is whole chicken which I will be cutting up and making a pankos crumb shake and bake (new recipe), now to look for my meal plan on here.

I'm still working on transferring my recipes into their new home....geez...my hand is getting tired of writing....baby steps....no rush.

Thanks everyone. Sometimes I just feel at wits end. There just seems to be no resolution that will fix things.

One employee mentioned that DH should get partial reimbursement for the gas for the commute, but his boss' response was that working there was optional and he was welcome to find another job. (Sigh. If only.)

Next month is thanksgiving and we'll certainly be counting our blessings. No one is seriously ill currently, our car runs, and we can feed LO. As Dorey said in Finding Nemo, "just keep swimming, just keep swimming..."

I'm not looking forward to the cooler weather. The daycare is 40 minutes away and I'll be walking as much as possible to save on transportation costs. We're thinking of moving her to another daycare which is almost an hour away. I'm thinking I'll start taking the bus as soon as it gets dark when I take her home. We've searched for closer daycares, but no luck yet.

Between cruising on here, FB, emails, etc. - I've done yesterday's dishes, and made meatballs - enough for tonight's supper and extras for my son.

About the meat - there's a story. I planned to bbq ribs tonight - sent husband yesterday to Safeway to get some from the weekend sale. They were out - he was told they ran out Friday. My husband asked for a raincheck - well, no, it was only a three day sale. But, he said, you said you ran out the first day, so that was a one day sale.
Now my husband is NOT confrontational, and usually just lets things go, but this bothered him.
He asked to see the manager, and got a raincheck. Good man!

However, I was left with no ribs to make for tonight.
Plus last night - I had taken a package of frozen Dunn-Rite chicken from the freezer and when I went to make it, it was all white meat. Not complaining for myself, but husband doesn't eat white meat. So I just roasted them and will use them in sandwiches for the week, and freeze some.
So we ordered KFC last night for supper.

Still, I was left with nothing to make for supper tonight. All I had in the freezer was chicken and fish - both of which I've made when our son's come over lately, and I wanted something different.
I asked my husband to stop at Sobeys (on the way to KFC) to pick up a 1/2 kilo of either ground beef or pork.
So, yes I asked for it - but wowsers on the cost! Regular ground beef at 9.90/kg - never heard of such a thing. The package was over $12, so I made over half of that for today's meatballs, then two smaller packages to freeze.
It's been months and months since we had ground beef - we have been buying ground pork over the past year - and the most surprizing thing when I went to take the meatballs out of the oven was all the fat! (we get lean ground pork from a butcher, and there is no fat in the pan when baking meatballs).

BUT they taste amazing, lol! Will make a mushroom/onion sauce for them - not sure if I will do a tomato or cream based one yet, though.
