The vets must think I'm nuts sent dh with baggies of bug samples, called to tell them not to throw them away as if they cannot find anything I will bring to local health unit. The girl say nothing....hm.....really caught a live one on Chester yet it's not a bug
geez starting to wonder if I'm losing my mind
. Anyways I will pickup samples on Monday and drop off at Health Unit.
Supper tonight is meatless going to make pancakes and grilled cheeses
March break will commence this evening and demo this weekend and coming week (our bedroom and ds'2 old room)....so excited but know I will be living in chaos for about 1.5 months (sleeping in the eating area). Contractor doesn't start until 1st or 2nd week of April and work is supposed to take approx. 2 weeks + the times starting this weekend for demo and us doing the spray foam. BUT it definitely will be well worth the turnmoil once all is said and done and life is back to normal.
We are thinking of getting the contractor to book us in for another project right after this project. We would like to remove the dinning room wall which leads to the staircase to downstairs. We would like to open and put balisters instead and have a more open space, it will also make the area seem bigger AND the bonus is the heat from the woodstove will rise faster (no obstacles). We were quoted a price for the contactors time (labour), we are responsible for purchasing the materials and I think we can manage to save up the funds by May that would be 4 pays for dh so I'm very inclined to call the contractor this coming week to book it, Dh & I will discuss over March break and have to make a decision. I would rather get this other project done before the nice weather and dh focuses his attention to the outdoor projects.
Well off to day dream about renos and get some chores done as well.
Wishing everyone a great day & weekend AND March BreakLast edited by jasperandchar; Fri, Mar 11th, 2016 at 11:44 AM.

You said it, @Andit ! Glad you are making a stand about having Mom stay in the city for treatment. The next time that cranky specialist mentions Oshawa, insist that individual pay for and arrange for chauffeured ride from home to there and back for Mom on his/her dime-that ought to stall more repetitions. Gee, it never ceases to amaze me how the healthcare establishment figures patients can just snap fingers and overcome logistics of arranging rides/having someone travel with them out of city for treatment.
Quincy is not giving Lily any "vacation" time while she's on the mend? No sunny spot for a certain cat then...
The 30% chance of rain is holding off this fine sunny but cool day. Managed to get my Bulk Barn baking ingredient shopping done and use the $3 off wus $10 coupon. The store does not carry Blue Sky canned pop in the fridge-there are two different pop brands in glass bottles at higher prices.
So when I popped into Rexall hoping to see my new favourite Be Better hand cream on sale, I could not even find the small display of it from last week. It seems the one I like might be a discontinued cream as the regular shelf had two different larger tubes (they were not on sale) and there was no shelf tag/product for my favourite one. Will try another store to see if I can find another travel size tube of cream.
@sweet sparrow - you are Wonder Woman! She's in the Batman vs Superman movie. Gal Gadot was interviewed about how WW is strong on her own and needs no man to rescue her.
@jasperandchar -congratulations on getting the PC MC Elite card!
2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

I need some advice. My elderly parents live about 20 minutes drive away so I am the 'on call' person for everything. I have siblings who live within driving distance but they are busy with jobs, vacations, and what not. Now my parents want a family get together at their place so I have asked if there is anyone willing to organize the food....not a peep. They let me know they are coming but that is it. If I tell them what to bring, they will, but it would be nice if another would step up to the plate and actually help with the organizing end of things. What do you think? Should I just tell them all what I plan to bring and leave it at that? Or actually organize everything. I am leaning more to just saying what I'm taking and leave the rest up to them to figure out.

Momof5boys that is a hard one, I know in my family unless told more then likely most would show up with nothing assuming it was taken care of. So someone must organize unless someone is willing to take on all of it on which in my family is usually what happens. We now have a routine my step mom does the cooking and me and my cousin's wife bring desserts, she does pies and I do the rest.

Have icky computer problems here - I tried my best to fix things up last night and today, but I don't think I got very far.
Our son is coming over for supper, so hopefully he can make things right... again!
We do have a very old puter, but so far he's been able to keep resurrecting it.
Good wishes for those of you who aren't well, hoping things get better for you all quickly!

Hi all. I think I went mia for abit! Went to visit my family, meet my new nephew (he's fabulous). Did some shopping. We got a steam cleaner and a soda stream (I am hoping the latter helps me to stop buying as much pop in the 510ml bottles)
Got home...found out bfs mtg insurance rejected him and voided his policy for reasons we understand but find frustrating as if people used the info provided 12months ago we wouldn't have even tried to implement it. Soooo frustrating at least he's back to work as of this week now.
After getting home and getting scooter back from the ex and our boys...we found out he came home with (I'm getting itchy just thinking it) LICE. LUCKILY we noticed the day he came home and treated it and our house fast so dragon didn't get it too.
Today is my day off so making homemade pizza and watching old movies.
Last weekend I started 9 cauliflower 4 cucumbers and 6 tomatoes. I also started 7 bleeding hearts. 3 we will sell.

Mom of 5 Boys-I agree with Natalka and also trust your own gut the way you are feeling-just state in a group email what you are bringing, what your Mum is providing and leave the rest up to them- then people either say what they are bringing by hitting reply all or they just show up with food. If they show up with nothing that will probably be the last time they do that. It would not be the end of the world if somebody had to run out and buy a bucket of KFC or a fruit plate or order in a pizza at the last minute if they arrive empty handed!!

Crochetlady: wow, I hope you feel better soon. This seems a long time to be so ill.
Momof5boys: I agree: tell everyone what you are bring and then they can fill in the gaps. This works so well in my extended family that we actually expect 1 member to bring the pizza and another to bring KFC & if they don’t people are so sad. Granted it took us years to get to this place. Everyone but me is packed and ready to go. I am thinking of baking a batch of cookies. We have packed lots of treats good and bad for the road trip. I even packed some of the food. The dollar is brutal and this way I can reduce costs. We have as full kitchen so will make lots of meals in the resort.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.
