Good Morning Everyone,
Oh what a day yesterday was. I had to work yesterday so I was in the office no big deal, our Controller was worried we would have computer issues because we are having a ton of issues lately but I checked with all the branches and all was good so I thought it was a good day.
Just before I left Mom texted me that our power went out at home, well that changed my afternoon. I was going to come home, take a shower, start laundry, make a cup of tea and keep working. Well that was not going to happen now. AS I was driving home it was seriously starting to rain which was making it hard to see and power was out across the whole town which meant not street lights. Most were being good which was nice to see as the Highway was insane with traffic but a few people were scary with their driving skills.
To add to the fun the last time it rained we noticed a leak in our bathroom so as soon as I got home I was upstairs checking the bathroom for leaks as it was pouring. This time the leak was on the other side of the bathroom so I took care of that and went to work the best I could in the living room with little to no light. In just over an hour the power was back on but we were still getting down pours. I went upstairs again to get laundry and discovered we now had a leak on either side of the bathroom.
Turns out our leak maybe more server then we knew as we developed a bubble in our Kitchen ceiling on the main floor which started dripping so I popped it and so fair it has stopped but I must say I am not happy. We will contact the property management team as I am pretty sure they will have to cover the damage as it was caused by a roof leak they have not taken care of. I know they are looking to have the roof done but I must say I am a little skeptical of it happening this year as I know all of the companies they are getting quotes from and I know how busy these guys are and I also know how they work. They will continue to book work but it does not guarantee it will get done this year, if they run out of time they just bump you to next year and with the weather we are having they are falling further and further behind. I guess only time will tell what will happen.
Hoping today is a little less hectic. Have a great day everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Morning! Since the house was quiet yesterday we decided to take a drive to Orillia and have a free dinner at the casino and a little date night out. Well I left with $377.00!!!! And my honey with $80!!! We were very happy. Stopped at Metro on way home and redeemed $20 in airmiles for 4 boxes of Jane's chicken strips and 1 banana ☺. Today we will go shopping and make a nice dinner .

Angela, sending healing thoughts your way, I don't know how you do it, you are so busy with your family. I am going to give the zucchini wrap recipe a try, it looks good!!
Coupongirl, I hope your bil heals quickly, is he getting stents or a bypass?
Sassy, when it rains it pours...literally.
Still busy here with renovations, I have been at it since May and am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. It has been a rough summer with three funerals, two of which were my son's friends, lost too soon in a car accident, and the third was my best friend's husband who lost his battle with esophageal cancer, so Natalka I know the fight your brother in law has been battling and it is a tough one. I hope he rallies. My BIL was diagnosed two weeks ago with the same cancer and his prognosis was not optimistic so I may be going to Ottawa to help my sister during his chemo. It's funny, I knew very little about this type of cancer, and now having two people close to you with the same diagnosis is odd and it is not pretty.
Well back to taping and painting for the morning before the house gets to hot to work!!
Enjoy the day everyone.Last edited by thriftygranny; Sun, Aug 14th, 2016 at 10:32 AM.

I was up early to get the clothes on the line, we have a chance of rain agin this after noon so I need everything to dry. We are leaving early on Monday so there will be no time for anything to dry. Currently we have sun and some stuff is already dry.
The boys will pack for themselves so it's nice to just get my stuff ready. I will also pack snacks and drinks as we are doing a road trip and I prefer healthy options mixed with the occasional road trip snacks.
I had 1 pick up last night and 1 more today. I found more to post when I am back on Thursday. I am in a total declutter mode now. I have a bag of towels and sheets for the humane society.Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

I hear you about knowing little about types of Cancer and the treatment to knowing so much about it. This past year has made us realize that life can suck. Watching my bestie go through her fight with breast cancer and being diagnosed at age 39 was so emotional. She is now cancer free which is wonderful but still saddens me that she had to go through this. But now I know so much about it and have been to Chemo treatment with her so I have a huge spot in my heart for anyone going through that journey.

Yes it does suck, and no two people respond to the treatment the same so it is crap shoot. Watching anyone suffer is hard, I can't imagine how terrifying it is to be diagnosed at 39.

Yikes, Angela! I hope you are ok! Prayers, of course! Who would go with you if you have to go to Estevan? Please take care. If the pain doesn't let up, I would go back - my dh had to have emergency appendectomy - actually the day my mother passed away 5 years ago. Not anything to put off, for sure!
