Happy Tuesday all. Hope you were able to celebrate Easter in some fashion.
I can't profess to understand God's plan. Christ promised the resurrection of the dead. I just thought he had something a little different in mind.

@flemeth
drum roll please!! It's a HOME RUN!!
Anyone who loves soft on the inside, with lots of those holes and a crusty but flaky outside crust would enjoy the ease of making this bread! It is really just all about the time, not the work. I was thinking that someone with arthritic wrists could appreciate this.
I'm still shocked it turned out as my small jar of bread machine yeast in the fridge had a BB date of Oct 2018 !
But I used it anyways, which is why the loaf probably did not rise up as high in the centre as Jenny's did.
I actually did a yeast test first with warm water, sugar and yeast in a bowl and for the most part there were some bubbles after 10 min., so that's why I went ahead with it.
btw, I used AP flour in mine not bread flour.
Mmmm..oh yeah and what is all this nonsense about letting the loaf cool before slicing? We ( DD and I ) cut off one small end and buttered up some pieces...the chewiness is so very satisfying.
So much for a no carb life now!

@walkonby , that looks like a lovely loaf of bread and your endorsement puts it over the top! I have that pot and I certainly will make it next time. This last time, I made the Amish bread on allrecipes that has always been a success for me, and used just plain jarred yeast, not the instant kind. It makes 2 loaves or 1 loaf and some cinnamon buns which is what I should have done with it, but the kids got one loaf, we kept the other.
As for flour, here in Canada, our AP flour is comparable to the US's bread flour...something about the semolina wheat here or whatever, so we don't have to worry about having two types of flour for baking here. Cool, huh??
Enjoy your bread!!

Oooooo. @walkonby ,..a munchable tummy! When Jenny finally want to get up in the morning she lets out a yelp, when either of us walk into the bedroom she rolls over like that pup and needs her tummy scritched and of course Mom just kisses her poofy tummy..she's so clean, so sweet. How nice to wake up and be so lovingly admired first thing in the morning!
Just like us, right, Walks? 😊

Its pretty chilly out today. I have to go get some essential groceries today. Will be making sure I am early so as not to be in long lines and that not too much people in the store. Just going to do my shopping at 1 store .
Hope you all are doing good
