^^^ sniff, sniff @Lynn49 do you mean an emotional ride? That brave Security guard ( Eugene Goodman ) who single handed led some of the Capitol the mob up a set of stairs in the other direction of the open doors of the Senate.
This quick thinking saved members from certain attack and possible kidnapping. ( or worse )
Today he was asked to escort Kamala Harris to the Inauguration, and was promoted to a top acting role in the Senate Capitol Police posting ( I forget the title? Sergent at Arms )

I set the pvr to record the whole day of Inauguration,.....what a sap I am.

So much for the claim, "They were well organized." They didn't even have any idea where to go to reach the Senate chamber.

What a beautiful inauguration, what a tremendous speech by PRESIDENT BIDEN!!

Good luck to them all...they're going to need it to clear out the disgusting cesspool that was the WH for the past 4 years.
I hope they not only disinfected everything, but fumigated the place, too!!

Indeed it was/is a cold one out there as I found out the hard way! Shorter walk today.
Watched inauguration as history in the making. Thankful no troubles.
Still making the best out of what I am able to do without causing further pain.

Hiya you 2 hard working individuals! ^^ Happy Thirsty Thursday!

I saw a commercial on tv last night, which I am sure has run before but I am spoiled into skipping most ads by FF on my recorded shows. The con side of watching anything live is the ads!

Anyhow this ad mentioned something about not drinking during ALL of February....well tbh, I was in mid slurp of my wine, so I cannot discern if they were encouraging people to do this or trying to shame people into doing it.
Either way....ads are short...like 30 seconds maybe?
I have not been tempted to join anything healthy since this covid started and thankfully I've turned off my guilt trigger around the same time so I was unable to recall any of the sponsors for it.

I dozed off in my recliner later ( courtesy of the wine ) and when I woke up I thought that ad had been a bad dream!

Good morning!!

I just woke up. Yep...I'm not sure what time the inauguration concert ended, but that's what time I fell asleep. WHAT a day it was! I feel like fresh air has wafted through the WH, but they have masses of problems to overcome and unravel.
I loved what President Biden said to all his colleagues he was swearing in: that if any of them belittled or (some such) their own staff, he would fire them on the spot! Dignity is available to everyone.

Of course John Legend stole the show last night.
Lady Gaga stole someone's drapes, lol! But what a voice she has.

Well...day 1, let's see what happens.

More snow overnight, but....who cares?! Our DD said the last time she filled her vehicle was late November...I guess a lot of us are saving $ on gas!

@Skippy , sorry you're dealing with such pain and I do understand your need to walk in order to 'use it or lose it, but please be careful out there. With the rain / freeze, then a covering of snow it can be so icy out there, just be careful. You don't want to go through what I did a few years ago. I tried to join my Hubby and Jenny for a walk before the snow fell and only got a block away before pain became too unbearable; I'm so disappointed I can't go for walks without medication like Aleve, which our Dr advised me not to take.

Ok! On with my day...a quilt from the fabric my DD gave me for Christmas as a lark, along with the tiny quilt iron I'd been whining to my Hubby about. 😉
