Good morning folks!
Going to be verrry hot and sticky today. I have lots of inside work to keep me busy.
Trying to get Tootie into the groomer to get her "summer buzz." Have to be careful as her fur is thin so don't want her getting sunburn.
Have a lovely day, folks!

Hi, everyone!!
Feeling about 80% better today, that silly muscle-cramping still wants to stick around a little longer, but it's really eased up nicely. Wish the same were true for you, @Natalka ...I hope you can get some pain-free rest today.
DH brought home a bag of rhubarb from the kids' home that we planted eons ago, so I want to make up some stewed rhubarb to have over my non-gluten 'bread' in the morning; I love that stuff. Then....I want to go through the part of my closets with winter clothes I haven't even touched this past winter and bring them and other purged stuff to the St Vincent de Paul centre. I know they're out of season, but hopefully they can store the stuff or put it out so people can pick them up for the next wintery season. That should pretty much do it for me today.
Hot, humid here, too, so the central air is on already; I had opened the windows this morning, but it was beginning to feel muggy at 25 degrees already!
Have a wonderful day, everyone!!

Glad it's a bit better for you, Lynn.
Oh, how I miss rhubarb, just eating the stalks raw, dipped in a bit of sugar. Oh, and rhubarb squares!
Here, to buy rhubarb is very expensive, which is crazy!

Mmmmm, we used to do that too, Nat...each of us had a little bowl of sugar and we just sat on the ground near the rhubarb dipping and eating. The good ol' days, huh?
I just stewed them made 2 x 250ml. jars and put them in the fridge. I didn't process them because it never lasts long in the fridge as it is.
I used Stevia to cut the calories, so I added a pkg of strawberry jello to help it jell a little since there wasn't sugar to do that and I like the combination, and it doesn't overpower the rhubarb. Oh, my Mom's strawberry rhubarb pies this time of year!!! And yes, rhubarb squares... I'm sure your Mom did both, too.
Nat, around these parts, people put rhubarb from their gardens on kijiji or some such local notices site....and it's quite a lot cheaper that way. Perhaps you could find some ads like that there?Last edited by Lynn49; Mon, May 28th, 2018 at 02:08 PM.

I'll be keeping an eye out for it in lots of places.
Funny, I don't like rhubarb pie. Or strawberry-rhubarb. My mom made a custard rhubarb pie.
