Good grief, that was a huge tree, Dan. You have a big property, yes? It didn't get too close to your house?

It was one of about 30 big old Willows on the property.
Yes, we have just about 2.5 acres. Tree looked tiny from the house...and just kept getting bigger and bigger as we got closer and closer...it was at least 500 feet from the house.

@danger_dan , we had a huge old tree in our yard when we bought this home from our Daughter and worried about it toppling down on our or a neighbours' yard....2k to kave it removed. You saved a lot of money and got firewood! Thank goodness it was so far from structures and people.

Hi folks! Do you ever wake up and feel upset from a dream ? But what you have dreamt isn't real? Is taking a while to enter the real world this morning.
I think this horrible loss out west is taking it's toll on my psyche. I sure gave my two nephew's big hugs last night!

Dan, that's quite a huge job dealing with that tree! Willows grow over water, do you have a stream back there in your bush? What a lovely setting you must have!

Lynn, oddly, perhaps, I don't mind rats and mice. That one's a cutie.

Cabbie, you are in a huge demographic, obviously who watch wrestling - no judgment here.

@danger_dan , we had a huge old tree in our yard when we bought this home from our Daughter and worried about it toppling down on our or a neighbours' yard....2k to kave it removed. You saved a lot of money and got firewood! Thank goodness it was so far from structures and people.

Oh yeah, we were very thankful it was away from everything, and the only damage done really, was a couple of small trenches (about 1 foot deep) where branches had dug in and snapped off the tree top. Yup, lots of fire wood. We actually just finished up our the last of our fire wood for this winter last night...and with the amount that came off just this bit, that'll keep us nice an warm all of next winter.

You betcha! There's a creek that runs parallel to our lot, right down the middle of that lot, about 25 feet away from the willow that fell (and the others willows).

Yeppers, @avoncallingu...I awakened from a nasty dream not long ago that made me want to throttle my Hubby when I woke up! Lucky for him it was just a dream!! I've had a few weird experiences falling asleep lately, where I know I'm not asleep because I try to get that image again, but I 'see' scenes of places and people from above...sometimes I can bring them back for a few moments, other times I can't. Remind me to tell you some time, don't want to bore folks on here!

Hope everyone's having a very good day...I'm going to start on a new summer t-shirt...hope springs eternal, maybe it'll actually warm up enough to wear it one day!!

Looks like the chillier weather is keeping the other early birds snuggled up in their warm beds!

Normal high for this time of year is supposed to be around 10 deg...it was fricken -6 when I left this morning!

Had a huge old Willow fall on our back property last week during that wind storm that blew through. Snapped off about 30 feet up...cleanly thankfully!
We de-limbed and chunked the wood this weekend and just covered it for now...I'll split and pile it later in the summer when it's a bit drier. There's a good 2 bush cords of wood there, plus the 30 foot trunk and another 15 foot trunk that's laying off the ground right now we decided to leave, since it was off the lawn in the bush.
Had a super productive weekend with the In-Laws visiting.

Busy start to the week here, so off to it I get.

Yeah. The other night I dreamt that I was in a car accident. I was in the back seat and the driver lost control and drove into oncoming traffic. Avoided most cars but finally managed to head-on into a cube van. This was the night before the bus accident.

Trying to float off to sleep but it's hard with so many ideas getting in the way.

Tootie gets a clip tomorrow. I will be plugging away at paperwork if nothing else gets in the way.

Good morning everyone @danger_dan I am glad that you did not have any damages from the Willow tree coming down.i guess you had lots of cleaning up to do so I guess u had you exercise fro the month of April. Have a great day to everyone
