G'day, everyone!
@Newfiescreech, we did get some ice pellets and some snow but whatever landed is pretty much gone now, I heard dripping outside when we slipped out for a quick errand this morning, it's +3, so I'm every hopeful that this too, shall pass. So where are you off to tomorrow? Please tell me it's somewhere exotic, warm and lovely...I hope your flight gets off the ground and lands safely every single time!
@danger_dan, isn't this the second time you've had basement flooding? I hope you're not in for a 10k foundation dig-out this spring! Is it coming from a singlular spot down there? If so, there's a possibility of an indoor fix which we had to do in our former home that the kids are in now, no problems after that. Make certain, before you have to shell out the big bucks (which I hope you don't have to do!) that you consider all solutions, okay? Fingers cross you'll have no more problems moving forward.
We just had to take Jenny for a nail clipping this morning...oh, how that girlie suffers...she started shaking in the van, and my DH said, "She's probably shaking because she never gets into the van in the winter unless something bad is going to happen. "....like a vet visit or nail trim. But, after she was all done, the lady asked for kisses and Jenny obliged with a few...then she was treated to a cookie and all was well with her world. Yes...life is fascinating here...
I hope you're all having a lovely day!!!

Morning gang.
Fingers crossed, all seems back to normal here.
Drive in was ok, no major delays, just a couple of slow downs. Nothing out of the norm.
The lady needs to drop off a project proposal for her office on our way home...so we need to be sure to be there before they close for the end of the day...which means I've gotta get some work done in less time than usual today.
Looks like a bit of unsettled weather for the next 48 hours, nothing like this past weekend though...and then onto double digits all next week!
Have a wonderful day peeps.DANGER

Hello all. Internet issues. Child #2 using way too much of it with his stupid Fortnite game. Had to cut everyone back for the month. No online gaming, no youtube, no music. Halfway through the month and we're at 75%. Wish we could afford to go unlimited, but with a second car payment sitting in the driveway, there's no way.

Priorities set.
I know what you mean about the cost for internet. We were getting so close to having to choose between internet and other expenses when we were still living the the GTA. We were on a Capped internet usage plan then too.
Luckily we're with a smaller provider now, who keep their rates comparable, but with unlimited access, albeit at a much lower speed.
Regardless, we don't notice the difference in speed, since our previous speed was ridiculously fast for simply streaming/internet streaming/browsing.
But back to your priorities set. I'm sure if you haven't already been hit by it, that you will soon...with the backlash from the younger human beings...
75% use over 50% of the month isn't completely outrageous, but it does significantly cut back your usage over the next two weeks.
Good luck managing the usages for the next two weeks @GoJays . I'm assuming you have a Wireless Router? Maybe shut it off after so much usage each day?...just a thought, I'm sure you've got it all under control.DANGER

@danger_dan
I'm going to give him a chance to try to keep himself under control on his own first. I need to show him that I will trust him with other things if he can show me that he is trustworthy with this. It's give and take. I forgot to mention that last month we already went over. I never thought to keep checking my usage before because we never went over before. Imagine my shock when I opened the last month's bill and saw an extra $20 charge on it. I didn't get angry with him, but I made him pay for it and he didn't argue. He knew it was him and didn't try to blame his sister. All she uses my wifi for is homework and the odd video clip on instagram. She's such a nerdAnyway, I told him that if he continues to go over he will continue to pay.
Yes on the wireless router, but no way on shutting it off. I need MY internet!! LOL! But I don't stream, I don't youtube (much), I don't do anything that would use up that many gb in a month. But thanks for your comments, I appreciate the ideaI won't go as extreme as a co-worker of mine - they actually cancelled their home internet because their oldest was spending day and night on it. Talk about extreme. I still have a firm enough handle on my tiny children that if I tell them to not do something, they don't. Or so I think..
At least with the internet I can monitor the usage and they know it.
