Morning! Snowed all night and now we wait for the cold snap that is suppose to hit us and stay for 48 hours.
Brought my breakfast, some snacks and a small lunch but at least I brought it (chicken and green beans). I won't feel guilty for what I may have for dinner out at the restaurant .

Hoping you are better today SassyAshley.

I belong to that FB group too Giseledta.

Another cold day here again. Anybody else getting tired of this cold? One of my cats even won't go out in this cold and the other two just do their business and are right back in.

Thank you for the suggestion. I just joined them this morning. I forgot that you can print coupons from Smartscource.ca twice per browser. I know some that I could use. Their Facebook group also says that you can do the same thing with the printable P&G coupons and multiple browsers.

    Morning all,

Happy New Year! Hope all is well!

Life has been a bit of a challenge - I have had 3 colds since I finally got over that nasty flu. To put things in perspective, me on a normal day is the equivalent of someone with a cold, me with a cold is akin to someone with the flu, me with the flu is similar to someone with the bubonic plague....

On the plus side, the kids are all well - Lily dog, Quincy cat and the 3 wise(ish) fish.

Having kind of a blech day today. Found out about 2 instances of people I know being accused of less than pleasant behaviour. I have very strong views about the so-called "victims", but I'm seething too much to do anything lest I make things worse. Sigh, sometimes I really really hate people. Going to spend the day squishing critters (ok, so not necessarily the aquatic ones - really don't want to get wet ) and try to feel better.

Hoping 2018 is a good year for all. I have been invited to go out of town to a convention in the spring - trying to see if I can make it work, cause it sounds like lots of fun and life is too short to miss a chance to enjoy the day.

Going back to hibernation mode (latest cold is going on 2 weeks, so nearing the end, but still blech).

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I like it and there is always lots of information. I believe though you will do lots better in couponing and saving money if you don't just buy to use a coupon or do a rebate. I do not buy into that especially all the smelly items such as candles, air fresheners and scent boosters. My house smells just fine and if I want a candle then I will treat myself to soy or beeswax based. Less chemicals.

I am done with Caddle as it took me until last month to cash out $20.15 since it started and it was mostly surveys.

Be realistic with your stockpile as you can only use so much and yes items do go bad. There will always be another sale and another coupon.

I will type you some more tips after DH goes to work.

Totally agree! Stockpiling cheap Glade candles because they are on mark-down with coupons is not a deal for me. 1. They are toxic. 2. They aren't a need.

I find my best deals are shopping the sales and watching for clearance/reduced healthy food. If I can do well with this then I'm ahead of the game.

I do pretty good with most stuff. I dont buy the glades, or other scenty stuff... I tend to open windows, and use vinager for most cleaning. so that takes care of most smellies... keep in mind I run a home childcare.. poop happens... lol

I tend to cook from scratch alot. alot.
I do use costco .. and I find alot of the prices there are really good.
however some things, I am trying to be .. more aware of coupons for .. so .. I am keeping my options open.

now airmiles, pc points, sdm . areoplan ect. I do well with

part of my reason for couponing... is to get free, or close to free for donations.
and because I have a belief.. that on the whole groceries, and day to day consumables are going to be increasing in the next year... I need to work hard to combat that

This morning on the CH Morning Live show, I saw a news headline that Cara Foods has pulled romaine lettuce from their fast food and restaurant chains (Harveys, Swiss Chalet, Kelseys). I'm surprised about romaine being used at Harveys-maybe in their salads or bowls but not the topping for burgers? The iceberg lettuce is used for hamburgers.
@Andit -Happy New Year! Glad to see a new post from you. Definitely chase the convention chance.

Noticed that Value Village has a new holiday items 50% off sale starting today and continuing for a week. What would one find-items for Valentine's Day or Lunar New Year? Or Christmas stuff?

I wanted to purchase a raffle ticket today at a hall but I was there two hours too soon. With the weather forecast for today, I won't make a second bus trip. Saturday, I'll find out if the raffle continues then go next week to buy a ticket. At least I was able to return some library books on the way to the hall, so the bus fare was not wasted.

Dh booked tomorrow off work because I have two specialist appointments to attend. I’m meeting a new migraine specialist and seeing another specialist for my ear.

I received Subway coupons in the mail. I might use one for lunch when I am out of town tomorrow. I might do a little shopping at Value Village and see what I can buy for myself.

I don't do a lot of coupon trading for donations other than the local cat shelter but I do donate freebies from coupons I won't use or can't trade or freebies from AM's like the Bick's deal last summer. I also donate my free 2L pop when we order pizza. I coupon for my mom too and do donate to the foodbank but not like some of the others on SC.

I guess I can't help you much in that aspect but maybe you should join this group on FB too.

    Thank you everyone,

I am sore today but actually not as sore as I expected to be. I am not good at being hurt I have been sitting here all day thinking of things I should be doing but then remember it took me about 2 hours to empty the dishwasher. Bending really hurts and standing for long periods of time. So anything I do I have to be able to take breaks and sit down.

I tried to distract myself with work but they are doing more maintenance today so we have been on and off the system a couple of times and are down right now.

Trying to come up with something simple for dinner I can make. Has to be something that won't need a lot of my attention or standing.

    Have a great day everyone.
