Restrictions are slowly dropping everywhere, but that doesnt mean we should let our guard down. One of our friends (who lives in a seniors residence) has come down with Covid, even though she was triple vaxxed. Hopefully she wont get too sick but she has major underlying conditions. These are the people we should worry about. Her contact has been limited to 6 family members. Just goes to show you, be on your guard, wear your mask and sanitize your hands. And yes Herman i know what you are going to say and frankly i dont give a rat's a**.

I agree @SnowFlakey we still need to be vigilant. I’ve had several clients get it and all were triple vaxxed and that has prevented serious illness/ hospitalization or worse, death, but still not worth the risk. Also concerned about long term affects of it. We unfortunately just don’t know.
BC is loosening some restrictions but keeping passports and masks in public areas so far so I’m happy about that. To be honest, I personally won’t be removing my mask anytime soon and ESPECIALLY during cold and flu season.
Stay safe

Just goes to show that inoculation only reduces serious outcomes for the individual and does absolutely nothing to reduce transmission or infection. Of course, that was all inoculation ever promised. The problem has always been that folks kept lying to themselves about how inoculation somehow prevented the spread. Said it before and I'll say it again, SnowFlakey: told you so.

Loads of restrictions are being scaled back in QC today. We still have to wear masks. I dont know how i will feel when masks are no longer mandatory. Although i hate wearing masks, i strongly feel they are still necessary. Hubby and I have been lucky so far; we havent caught Covid even though we have been in contact with some people who are now ill. It was probably due to the fact that we always wear our masks. We dont restrict outselves; we are just very careful.

Unfortunately, wearing a mask really only reduces the chance of further transmission and adds little or no protection for the one wearing the mask because the mask, itself, does little to prevent droplets from penetrating (in either direction.) The mask interrupts the air flow and slows down the expelled particles from an infected individual. The smaller transmission range reduces the aerosol footprint of sick individual is thus smaller. Unfortunately, if a part reaches your mask/face, you are probably going to just suck it right through.

@SnowFlakey thankfully masks are still mandatory but when and if they remove that I know we will still be wearing them. I believe that the masks in addition to other measures we have taken have kept us safe so we will continue to do the same. While they may not be the most comfortable thing to wear I'm actually used to it and I have to admit I kinda like it. Maybe thats also because of all the money I've saved on makeup

Today they eliminated the vaccine passports in New Brunswick. On March 14th (I think is the right date) they are eliminating the other restrictions. While it will no longer be mandatory we will continue to wear our masks. Unfortunately they will no longer have mandatory isolation for people who test positive. I can only imagine how many parents will send their Covid positive kids to school so the Covid positive parents can go spread it around at work.

@francine1985
we too won’t give up masks. I’m guessing we will have more cases, more businesses not able to keep up with the lack of staff when they get sick. Sad, especially since they are looking out for the newest variant
.
Not that we eat out often but if they lift the passport here then we Weill no longer eat out. I’m not comfortable being with those that are not vaccinated. Guess I’ll be saving more $$$$ that’s the positive.

Same for us. We DID go to a few movies at the Cineplex prior to this and that was ONLY because of the spacing of seats ( no-one in front, beside or behind us whatever seat we had reserved. ) Also going on a Monday matinee guaranteed us an almost private viewing.
However, now that they are lifting restrictions we'll just return to watching movies on the tv ( Bell On Demand, etc ) .
Restaurants ( dining-in ) have not been a thing for us since 2019, that won't change.

I heard this morning on the news that mask mandates in QC will be removed around the middle of April. Hubby and i were discussing this. He said he would still wear his mask when we go anywhere. I agree with him.
