Today was a busy day..I started off the day trying to somewhat stretch doing yoga...the instructor was far too advanced for me but I did sit back up faster from the mat...that's progress. After that I played ukelele with a group on zoom and then caught up on the phone with some old friends.
DH and I figured out our new savings categories for this year and I'm quite pleased.
We checked off a few savings categories last year
    DHs entertainment savings
    Cottage week savings
Visit with DD out west savings
We also figured out a way to save/tackle a few other savings categories i.e. property taxes and insurance using some government tax credits.
Our new categories are - TFSA for DH with non smoking savings (for large home maintenance items)

New fridge/freezer -savings from loyalty points and CC rewards

Cottage rental week vacation- coupons/fpcs and price match

Basement/fitness- rebates Eclipsa/CO51, Caddle, Websaver, Gocoupons, Rakuten, PG rewards, app food rewards, ampli, lost leader offers, freebies, scoop, swag (with value) and contest wins

    Good Morning Everyone,
Not sure why but I am super tired today. I did not get up at 5 as planned but slept in until 6 as I was just so tired when my alarm went off.

I am struggling to keep up at work, I am able to keep up on the people I am covering work but my own job is slipping. I was feeling a little knocked down last night as there were a few big things I wanted off my plate but they need focus and attention and I have not been able to focus on my own job. Hoping next week things will calm down and I can really focus.

I got a few small things done yesterday around the house but not the 2 big things I wanted to tackle.

This week is not going as planned but that is okay, it is what it is. I will do my best and go from there.

    Happy Thursday Everyone

    Good Morning!

I dropped a glass jar that smashed in the garage last night...I was not in the mood to clean it up so I will have to do so tonight...grrrr

I shoveled a bit before I left for work this morning. DS will finish the job today.

Made my lunch last night (sandwich and clementines) Hopefully I can wait till after noon to eat it.

    Have a wonderful day!

Sebastian had problems with their laptop, but was on for a bit (i think he will miss his friends a bit as he is an only child ) .

Giseledta-i sruggle with sleep sometimes but (honestly i think as a mother i worry about my kids )plus menopause ,this covid world we live in etc.I try to keep to same time to go to bed between 9.00 and 10 but i still wake up around 6-6.30.Last week i was waking up at 4.00 a.m and just couldnt get back to sleep.

Everyone have a good day -i may try to get out for a walk.

Nice sunny day to go out and run errands. Last night I cleaned out my fridge as green cart pick up was today. I missed the blue box as it was very windy last night, and I hate when they stack the boxes as it's so hard to separate.

Slowly making progress with my Korean rescue min-pin. He is so cute but scared and I hope eventually to take him on walks, besides just around the house outside.

I have decided this year will be buy only what I need. I have too much stuff and want a nice, cleaner home with less stuff. I have started a Goodwill/Salvation army donation box and hope to clean up my office this month as well.

My booster isn't till next month, so I will avoid going to stores unless necessary and at off peak times. My friend who works retail said that since the stage 2 lockdown she has noticed the mall is quieter.

Not sure if everyone will be able to PM with Food Basic at No Frills

Food Basic has Cantaloupe on sale for $0.99 and No Frills has 4000 points for every 4 bought . I got my 4 this morning so Free when factoring PCO points. The cantaloupe are a decent size we had 1 with lunch and it was good
Giseledta, ROMEO, barbis9 and 4 others like this.

Felt like something bad for dinner. We have 6 hamburger buns to use up. So pulled 2 lean beef (paid $1 each) and 1 pork (paid .75 cents.) from freezer made 12 patties. 6 cooking now and 6 for the freezer to use the next 2 weeks.
Romaine cut and ready to make ceaser salad. Yum! Can't wait for dinner!

@cath007 hope you and your Dad feel better soon.

I was reading an article yesterday about the US and it was saying are dealing with what they are calling a twindemic. Not only do they have rising Covid cases but flu cases are also rising.

    Good Morning Everyone,
So happy it is Friday. It has been a long week.

Waiting to hear if I have to cover an additional person today. I found out yesterday they have been off for 2 days which means there is paperwork that needs to be caught up on. The manager was hoping they would be back today but I have not heard either way yet.

Originally I had planned to only do grocery pick-up orders until our numbers start to come down (but not sure how we will know now that it is almost impossible to get a test in Ontario) but after looking at the flyers there are things I would like to stock up on from stores that do not offer pick up. Thinking maybe I will go at opening one day when hopefully the store will be quiet.

I have to get out today and shovel and clean off the cars. It lightly snowed all day yesterday, it does not look like we got a lot of snow but enough a quick shovel will be needed.

I need to plan my weekend and what I want to get done. We did well sticking with our meal plan this week but did not make any new recipes. I need to update our meal plan for next week and figure out what ingredient prep needs to be done and whatever else I want to get done.

    Happy Friday Everyone

TGIF!!!! This week flew by! Love short work weeks

Next week I have about 20 zoom meetings. I'm not even kidding So today I am going to try and get everything done that I can so I can deal with my meetings and the daily stuff as I comes in.

Dinner tonight is leftovers. Chicken, fried rice, burgers. Fend for yourself! Mama is not cooking

Happy Friday! Well it's a big day for DH.. his new TV gets delivered today. I am excited for him but I know we will have some challenges with some aspects of the tv set up (primarily when I can't remember what passwords we use for streaming services lol). I expect our house will be shaking a bit with "testing" of the new sound media. If any of you have seen the shooting scene in the office tower in the Matrix, well that's one of DHs fav "test" segments.. sigh..lol.

I was planning on heading to the grocery store but stopped myself and DH agreed that we can focus more on using up items in the freezer and pantry. We are challenging ourselves this weekend for creating making due meals and will make our own bread/buns. Tonight we will have chili (Yes! It's finally happening!). I'm thawing precooked ground beef and I'm just about to start a batch of foccaccia bread dough in the bread maker. I think we'll try rosemary foccaccia. I just took a pile of turkey out of the freezer so we'll try to make turkey pot pie for tomorrow.

Well the TV has arrived ... let the set up begin....

Honestly I think I like chili for the excuse to have white bread with butter Yum. Your bread ideas sound yummy!
