I resisted the urge to hit up Starbucks since it was double star day. It was really hard, I don’t normally drink coffee that much anymore but I needed a pick me up in the worst way but I didn’t .

I have a shorter day tomorrow so I’m planning on finishing up my taxes….. I mean it this time .

After the laundry is finished I’ll figure dinner out………

For future reference, I was just snooping in my basement and remembered that I stocked up on beans 22-01-22 during the RCSS sale. I got a whole swack of 4lb Suraj dry beans from RCSS for $3 each. That works out to $0.75/lb.

I find it difficult to compare prices between canned goods and dry, due to their different units of measure. The cans are usually found in 540ml size, while dry beans are in pounds/kilos. I tried to weigh a 540mL / 19 fl.oz. can of beans and found it approximately 1 pounds. So, as a personal rule of thumb, I guesstimate that a can is about 1 pound. I know that there is water/liquid included along with the weight of the can, which likely means that you get less product weight from canned goods.

Anyone have a better calculation for comparison between dry and wet goods?

I haven’t taught in the last 4 days. Now suddenly I’m booked for the next two days. Tomorrow I’ll be teaching at a large school that I’ve never taught at before. I’ll arrive early so that I can learn my way around some.

Ugh, back to not being able to like posts from my iPad. @Ciel21 thank you for checking in if even for a moment.
I had a nice surprise today when I looked at my air Miles. I earned 400 miles from the bonus boom at Christmas. I was not sure if I used enough offers and I find the selection is so limited now it’s harder to earn. So I will happily take whatever I can get.
It’s likely too late to remind most of us to save your PCO. I had so few decent offers last week I had nothing to save.

I have several bags of dried beans in my pantry as well. I like the quick convenience of the canned ones for when I need a quick complete protein to add to our dinners.

@Ciel21 great to hear from you! We all miss your posts and hope you are doing ok.

Yesterday I got covid rapid test kit at my Food Basics (no pharmacy), the express cashier was handing them out. Only issue I have is the explanation sheet is only in French, the other side is blank.

We are anticipating a snowstorm tomorrow, so today I return an item and go to my pool class at the Y.

Good day fellow thread dwellers. We’ll see how long this post lasts as already having technical difficulties with “liking posts” and I am in low power mode on phone. That said I want to post as it’s been awhile and creeping posts isn’t the same!
In the life of frugalness I see beef is yet again on sale. Is there a reason why? as everything else is costing more(inflation 5% and change last month but gas prices factored in). Speaking of which my oil bill is big bucks but I no longer wish to be frugal and frozen(unless thatÂ’s something good on sale).
Weather is my world as donÂ’t want to fall down outside. So earlier this week finally warm enough and
much melted only to be getting another round(end of rant).
Question if you pleaseÂ…with Optimum points does anyone use them to buy anything thatÂ’s not on sale?
They often add a good bang for your buck when you get a bonus $10/$15 or more for redemption but does that make up for the higher prices at Shoppers? Thank you for any and all input!
Everyone keep safe and well from the oncoming storm and take life one day/hour/minute at a time. Whatever works best for you! Bloody my friends!
