I saw these in the flyer and was not sure how I felt about them as to what does this process do to the cucumber? Also I normally peel my cucumbers anyways but I feel with this coating I would have to peel them, maybe just a me thing.

I am all for less plastic but the ones at my store are not good quality at all. I was going to price match yesterday but changed my mind when I saw the product.
I just picked them up at No Frills this morning and they are wrapped in plastic but nice.

Honestly it didn't even appear to have a coating on it. The cucumbers at my store were squishy and crappy.

Dishwasher is running so I will empty it later tonight.
I did a load of laundry this afternoon and hung it to dry.
Also made a pot of rice.
Now it is time to enjoy some sunshine and fresh air!

those mini english cucumbers are the best! i eat them as snacks and i buy them from stores like H&W (a discount produce store) where they sell those mini cucumbers in lbs.

as for regular sized english cucumbers at RCSS; i've only seen them in plastic wrap and the ones that were never in plastic wraps are the field cucumbers.

You probably chose correctly if the unwrapped ones were that poor in quality. The odd time I purchase the very large bag of baby cucumbers from Walmart ( when on sale ).

PC Lasagna? I'd chase that item. So delicious! Handy to have in the freezer when all you want is an easy dinner option with minimal effort.

I had to mail stuff out today for work so popped into SDM.
The $12 BLSL chicken breasts had 50% off sticker on them so found the biggest package and have it cooking in cast iron pan now.
Then FB for more strawberries and wanted to try the Chopped salad since they were on for $4.77 (I needed something new)
Well the Avocado Ranch ones had 50% stickers on them!! They expire tomorrow and look just as good as the others selling at sale price.

So dinner is chicken, salad with fresh asparagus and green beans. Making a lunch bowl for work lunch tomorrow as well.

Sure is better then the pizza I may have talked myself into grabbing on the way home

CAA members get 3 cents off at Shell, if that helps you to get a CAA membership. Most of the retailer discounts are for online purchases but RW&Co is one of the few stores allowing 10% off in-store.

Looks like the snow has stopped. I sprained my ankle and all of this snow is making it harder for it to heal. Thankfully the x-rays came back ok but hope spring arrives sooner than later.

Time to check smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. Saw on the CHCH news that they estimate 50% of Hamilton residents don't have working smoke alarms.....kinda scary!
I am still keen to know about the Derby St fire in Hamilton if the male resident who rented the place had removed the smoke detector )fire had taken the lives of his kids, ex-wife and tenant). One of two articles about the fire indicated that he had been written up a year before during the annual inspection done by the property management team.

I also don't know how many landlords know about which smoke detectors to install for homes/units with gas appliances (photoelectric) versus electric appliances (ionic). A combination photoelectric/ionic detector will shriek if a gas stove is about to boil water or the gas oven is turned on. Lived that scenario (Dad did not know better when he replaced the old 9v smoke detector-photoelectric with a newer combination detector--set our teeth on edge!) for months until we were able to get the right one (thanks, Consumer Reports).

Today will be house cleaning and laundry .
Last Thursday I was admiring all the various KitKat bunny choc packages in the impulse/seasonal section of RCSS and knew if I even bought one, it'd not make it home after my trip. So I just looked! Lots of Aero lambs in stock at the store! (North Oakville)

See even clothing has gone up .Last year i bought a long sleeve top at walmart for $3.00 on a reduced rack ,now full of holes on the back and front so it became a rag.Mind you walmart does have a few brand names like penmans i have bought it washes great and better quality .No wonder i love to shop thrift for myself.

I may try to get to giant tiger this week thou they have a few clothing pieces on sale for myself and the grandkids.
Give the Bay a look-some clothing for kids is on sale/clearance (Seed Heritage is an Aussie brand-so sweet and many colours/designs) so you might score some deals. Also flash sales for womenswear-you might score new.

Giant Tiger's quality is variable for clothing-like most chains' store brands. I have not found much appealing in the 2023 lineup of women's tops-similar fabric as last year's but less fabrics and I don't want zippers on my shirts.

Still have to find spring coats for me. I was so disappointed at how few the coats were in two Winners' locations-Dixie Outlet had about 10-13 in dark drab colours and only in Medium! The other location in Heartland Centre had a couple more styles but limited sizes. Two different CK short spring coats (similiar toffee fabric but different goldtone closures) were in size large and no other sizes were on the rack! One of each coat. Sigh. Nordstrom Rack in Heartland was also disappointing-satiny windbreaker fabric with high price tags.

    Ok, feeling a bit better.

Mom is still in pain but not as bad as yesterday so that is a win. I think a huge part of it for her is mental, every time she makes plans to go out we get snow or her friends cancel on her so she has not left the house in weeks. Every time I have offered to take her out something has come up usually we get snow. She needs to pick up a prescription tomorrow so will try to get her out tomorrow.

A few things came in from work I could just knock out which helped me to feel like I was accomplishing something, plus I did the dishes, there weren't many but again got it done. It is just so frustrating when you are looking at lists of things you need to do but cannot complete any of it and it just keeps piling up. I need to see things get done it helps me so much. Also asked if they "need" my help tomorrow, nope got it covered great gives me more time to work on my stuff.

Dinner is Dutch Oven Chicken with Vegetables, it is Chicken with Mushrooms & Carrots in a cream sauce which I will serve over Mashed Potatoes. When I picked this dish it was lightly snowing and it just screamed comfort to me. Plus it used up some older mushrooms and some cut-up carrots I had in the fridge, bonus. Mom was able to help a little which she hasn't been able to do in a few days so I am taking this as a good sign.

My neck and shoulders, ugh, I thought I slept funny yesterday as it was bugging me yesterday and as the day went on it got worse. I was hopeful when I got up today it would be better, nope it is now moving to the other shoulder. I put some Voltaren on I think it is helping but if I move the wrong way it still really hurts. Hoping this is gone tomorrow.

Might put on a movie well we eat dinner and then get back to trying to get a few more work things done.
