last year, when it was half-day kindergarten, he had 20 kids.
This year, since it's full day kindergarten, he has 29 kids (which are a mixture of JK and SK) and a teacher and an ECE and another teacher (not sure what the third teacher does).

the reason i ask about the iphone is cuz i came across someone who is homeless, jobless, with kids, - looking for donations. I had sent them an email to inquire what type of donations they were looking for - cuz i was touched by their story and wanted to help them - but they replied to my email thru their iphone, and also bragged about how much they love their iphone cuz they get the emails right away etc etc. My hubby seems to think that its a scam, and we shouldnt donate to this person, but i just wanted to get another opinion, i guess.

Gosh, it's like we aren't in the same country, lol! We've been lucky this last week with minus single digits, but that's starting to change; we got a bit more snow (now we have TONNES), and it's heading back to the -20s region.
It's pretty typical for us once it heads to the end of Jan, into Feb - it's usually in the -35 to -40 area.
Vee, gee you were lucky to go to school with so few in your grades!
When I was in school, we were usually around the 25 mark all the way through the grades.
When my son went to school, he was in a Ukrianian bilingual school, so sometimes he was in a smaller class of around 20, but then he was in a class of 29 in Grade 2, which was just awful! That's way too many for kids that young - and she was a horrid teacher, to boot! The numbers then depended upon how the split grades went...
When I was substitute teaching, the biggest class I taught was 39 in Grade 7 - gah, they were sitting on the windowsills!
I lucked out more when I was teaching in a small town, classes were usually 21-23 kids - which is just about right when you are teaching a split grade, anyway.

Yep, I agree about the homeless with an Iphone. I know $65 a month wont pay for an apartment but it does seems like an insane waste of money. A basic cell phone is around $15-$20 or like my Adam you could just use a payphone. BWAHAHAHAHA. I couldn't resist. Sorry!
DH and I pay $65 a month COMBINED for our 2 old ancient cell phones. We've had them 7 years! We get unlimited calls to each other and DH has the fav 5 (unlimited to 5 numbers across canada).
I just can't see paying $65 a month for EACH phone. I'm too cheap! lol. Besides, I have my ipod and it does everything but phone and well, I'm usually around the house with the kids so can hop online then. My cell is for emergencies ONLY.Last edited by bargain_hunter_lola; Thu, Jan 10th, 2013 at 12:00 PM.

I'm thinking I might do the bubble valentine with DS. I really like the ball one but it's not appropriate for 15-30 months (most his daycare class). The bubble ones would be perfect though. Very cute and I'm thinking fairly cheap... He only has 8 other kids in the class.
Thanks Sheets!

Good morning, everyone!!!
It's a balmy +1 out there today, heading to +3 tomorrow, and like Vee, it's feeling darn well springy!!
I'll be taking pookers to the dog-park after dropping hubby off at the bowling alley to play pool with his other golf cronies who hang out there until the snow's gone and the courses are open again....then I noticed that XcessCargo has those flocked hangers in....15 for $4? Can't beat that! RCSS has them on for $14! I'm tired of things slipping off wooden hangers, and besides, they take up so much space..which is very limited here since we down-sized...
Anyhoodles!! Have a wonderful day, struggle through as best you can, tomorrow is Friday! And we'll be babysitting our grandson because of the teachers' walk-out! I still have to think of a craft to do with him, then we'll tidy the house up and make a nice slow-cooker pot roast for everyone when Mommy and Daddy get home. Should be a full day. Pray for me...lol!!

i get to have a v-day party for my kids + the little girl i watch part time. maybe play a couple little games, heart-theme lunch. i think they'll like that
have to head to NF before picking dd1 up at school.. want to get some more strawberries before the sale ends tomorrow. so mild here today! i think i over dressed dd for school.
i agree about the cell phone thing... we pay $40/month combined for our 2 phones. i'm a strictly emergency cell phone user too. i just learned to text last year.
anyway, off to go down to the playroom with dd2. she wants to play blocks and drive her car.

When I was going to college at george brown years ago

We would always see this older lady outside dressed kinda shabby selling tomatoes or oranges. Looked like she was poor and selling what she could to get by. Until one day someone saw her when she left the front of the school go around the corner and get in her bmw lol. Apparently she made a lot of money selling these fruits. lol

Anyway just got back from having lunch with my aunt at east side marios. Before that I wanted to go to zellers to check it out since ours is closing very soon in a matter of days. I bought 5 wine glasses for .50cents each and 2 vera wang wedgwwod 4pc bone china dinner sets for $10 each. The store is about 85% empty but still a few things to be had. The set showed as $29.99 when scanned so I brought to the cashier to ask and she said disregard what it says on the scanner they're $9.99 each.
