About a year or so back we were getting this same notice about Internet coupons. Turned out a memo had gone out that was misinterpreted. The link I gave to the latest policy was supposed to have cleared it up.

This has been an unadvertised AM special in the past.

Just 2 weeks ago we had the B5G50 $2/0.95 unadvertised special on Pringles.

When I'm in I usually troll the aisles for these specials and a few of us are known to post pictures here of the same.

I talked with Safeway this morning. They are going to talk to the store and said it is policy to accept internet coupons. They were very good about it. It is a little bit like feeling you are doing something wrong or trying to rip the store off (fraud as I was told that happens too often) that got me peeved. That and it clearly wasn't policy I was told. Kudo's to Safeway HQ for their response.

I'm not surprised. Safeway has one of the best customer services out there IMO.

As I was trolling their FB page, this came through...

Hint for the April 2nd Group Buy: Do you see the big picture in life? We can definitely help you out with this next deal!

Out of all the items up for auction so far
(thanks to emax for a great job), the only item that seems to qualify is the 55 inch TV (perhaps a large screen Macbook, but that seems a stretch). Likely there would be very few available, and I may be cutting my own throat on this one (since I may get in this myself), but figured the community needs to know!!

Retail price is $2,300, so figure 10,000-15,000 AM on a GB level. Just idle speculation right now, but tomorrow???

    Good luck!!

I have on occasion had this issue... I tell them I have a HP 1020 laser printer and it costs me a penny a page to print. Then I add with that cost there is no reason to ever consider copying a coupon. They back off every time.

Kinda seems like a push...here at the local Safeway Gas Bar, we get 5 cents per litre discount, which on 40 litres is close to the 2.50$ of AM

Unfortunately, the only $0.05 off gas bar around here is 20 minutes out of town and the nearest Safeway one is 50km away in Duncan.

There was talk of RCSS opening in downtown Victoria (which might mean a gas bar) but the lot has been empty for over 10 years now.

One of the new Targets opening here seems to be redesigning Zeller's old parking lot. I'm hoping it includes a discount gas bar.

Wow! You're right, Vegas Pilgrim. It's a 50" TV. Did you get one?

Not seeing the value of this item. If it was 3000 airmiles maybe, but 7800 is almost $800 which is basically the price of a decent 50" HDTV in the stores.

Sorry worldgirl, had the AM's but not your good luck
Have to agree with emax's evaluation--if it was the 55 inch 3D one that was in the auction, then the price might be CLOSE to appropriate. It would appear the AM FB community agrees with the "emax rating" of "meh"...they are re-iterating those comments, but in typically non-polite language . And after 3+ hours, the deal is not sold out (the most damning indictment).

Anyhow, there are over two weeks to go, so there might be bargains, but this TV deal shows us there might be so not great deals thrown in, like the jewelry deal from last week. But it appears this internet thingy allows people to determine appropriate value very quickly to enable us to pass on bad ones, so that's a good thing .
