Okaaaayyyy....since Monday, I've lost 2.2lbs!! And I went in there telling the gal I felt POOFY today!
Go figure.....ohhhh, this just all feels so good! Almost 10lbs in just over 2 weeks! Oh, I hope this
can continue, but it never does...there will be stalls, plateaus, but for now...YAY!!
Jasper, it really does make a difference, doesn't it? Good for you on your loss!!

Thank you, Curt...it looks like most (ahem, Walks?) of us are pretty successful now...I guess the thought of summer bikinis are pushing us on...lol...okay. Not summer bikinis...how about just less jiggling?

Jasper, our DD joined me up for Herbal Magic, and right now, it really has been magical! I lost my first 40-ish lbs just on line at Weight Watchers (they had a 3 month special for $36, so I joined to get the gist of their new program, then quit), and it really did work! And that's the operative word: work. Anyone can find the information on WW on line: ie how many points you're supposed to have each day, and there are web-sited dedicated to listing foods and their point values!
Now, whereas WW lumps calories together (ie: if you're allowed X-number of points, it doesn't matter where you get them as long as you stick to the limit...so if you want two grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch, as long as you count the points, that's fine), HM works slightly differently...I'm restricted to how many carbs/fats/fruits/veggies/protein I have. Yes, WW says it's important to stick to Canada's food guide, but really...who does that?
On HM, I'm allowed each day to have:
3 protein (2 lge eggs, 4oz lean meat, fish)
2 starch (ie 2 diet breads=1 starch)
3 fruit (1/2c each, canned in water or fresh such as one apple)
4 vegetables (1/2c each)
1 dairy (ie small light yogurt, 1C skim or 1%)
2 fat (2tsp butter, 1tsp oil, 1 oz nuts,1/2 tbsp low fat, but I just use Skippy )
1 free exchange (any 100 calorie snack-type bar..love Fibre 1!)
6-8 cups of water
AND I absolutely must eat it all in one day, even if it's 10pm and I didn't have
my fat, I'm to add my 1/2 tbsp of peanut butter, for instance.
That's the gist of it! It won't always be this rapid a loss, but for now, I'm just
fine with it!
Good luck with your journey!

Maintained. I said yes a couple times this week. But I said no way more, so maintaining is as good as a loss this week for me. I feel great that I kept off that 1.5 lbs I lost last week. It was quite the battle and I feel like I won!!! And let's be honest, I will be eating some chocolate today!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!
Granger, doesn't maintaining feel so good in the face of all the temptations?
Congrats for sure!
Jasper, no worries, I hope it helps, and yes it is less food for sure: I'm trying to lose, not maintain right now, so gradually, as my metabolism can adapt to handle extra food, this will be my lot until I'm on maintenance..
No chocolate for me, no wine, no big dinner....hubby gave me a bouquet of flowers this morning and they have no calories! I won't cheat just because someone else determined that everyone must eat chocolate today...I am such a rebel! LOL!!
We'll be babysitting our grandson today so that our DD and her DH can relax and enjoy a lovely, romantic dinner together...wherever that is, he hasn't told her, yet.. Then the 3 of them are off to Toronto to visit the aquarium, the science centre, and have dinner at Midievel Times one night, swim in the hotel pool and generally take a break from their routines...such a great family-day weekend for them!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!!

Hiya all you wonderful losers! Glad to see your success is coming off 1 pound at a time and yes funny Lynn I saw your comment a few posts up, and you are correct, I am still not invested in this. Just no interest at this time. I am really enjoying myself and I am the most calm and relaxed that I have ever been so that is something. I'll likely kick my own butt come Spring/Summer when I beg DH for a pair of his shorts to wear,
but I will not force this, it really has to come from within. Well THAT or a Dr. warning me enough is enough, let's hope it isn't that.
Happy V-Day to you all!! Enjoy the Olympics ( I know I am )

I totally understand; it took me a long time to "get with it" and finally make the decision. And you're wallowing in that wonderful world called "retirement", no pressures, no responsibilities except to your family....I hear ya.
And we'll be here for you when you do want to get back on our wagon again.
But.....but....please stay and help us keep the faith...! We need your joy, your weird and warped outlook on life...and a good swift kick in our knickers now and then wouldn't hurt, either. This place would not be the same without you..!!!
Please say you'll stay and not desert us!!!!
