Mia, I hope you're not beating yourself up because you're not losing right now...how can we help? Is it motivation getting started, or starting and stopping? Or is the diet you're on simply not working for you?
I bet every one of us took quite a lot of time between "I'm going to start my diet", to "I'm SO into this diet now!" Lots of stops and starts and studder steps...If we can help, just ask, okay?
Have a lovely day, everyone...!

Oh Lynn!! Thank goodness at the very least that comedienne ( host ) Carolyn Rhea said something about the distorted and humiliating before photos of these contestants hanging in the dorm. Cannot say I am shocked at the pressure tv puts on everyone to " make a good show " , but some of the things they experienced do seem like it was sub human treatment. I hope that gal who spoke out does not lose her life savings fighting being sued by them.
we are all huge winners too Mia when it comes to packing it on. Take a breath, start again, most of us do.

So true, Walks...I, too hope there are no problems with her speaking out like that; and I wonder why no one else does if she can. What I detest are those stupid halter tops the gals have to wear when they get weighed in! Can we embarrass them any more?! AND I can do without the guys taking off their shirts!!
The numbers on the scales should be what counts for them, not the humiliation~!

The gap between the final weigh in at the ranch and the live show is 3 months and I swear I am sure in that time they get all kinds of skin surgery. You do not lose that much weight and not have hanging skin left over. Especially the men with their breast skin.

Absolutely, Patty...that's why the men get to keep their shirts ON for the final weigh-ins and the women have longer tops..to hide evidence of surgery. It's so unfortunate the show sets up the more gullible to believe that through diet and exercise they can achieve rapid weight loss and get that perfect figure! It sets them up for a big fall...then what? Overeating again....vicious, vicious cycle...

Well here we are at the end of hump day and I am doing great! Mentally I am " in the zone " again, not tempted by foods that will harm me, but satiated and satisfied in the variety of fresh veggies, whole GF grains, proteins and fruits I am taking in. That water intake is something else eh ladies? Here's to a successful week and weigh in Friday!

Good for you, Walks!!! So isn't this a fine state of affairs: I was ON the wagon when you were off, and now that YOU'RE on, I'm off! First it was my high BP scare, and now my asthma has reared its ugly head again. I'm not sleeping through the night which if you don't know me, I feel is one of THE most important ways we take care of ourselves. So now that's stressing me out.
Truth be told, we're leaving for Disneyworld on Saturday, and although I want to be careful with breakfasts and hopefully for lunches (although those Disney eateries can be hit and miss) dinners will be no holds barred. I will not eat lettuce there. I can't eat it anyway, but you get my drift.....I shall savour my dinners and wine with my family.
I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
Keep up the great work everyone...I'll be back on track when I get home in another week...Hugs to all!!!

hey Patty maintaining is always a relief I say! I made my 2 lb loss goal for this week! I am laughing about all the weight I allowed myself to put on during the winter, ( maybe I have bear genes, you know hibernation? ) so it will be a slow journey back, but I am so happy to be retired and now I do feel so wonderful in my tum tum that it is possible. Good luck everyone! Lynn!!! Bon Voyage!!

Lynn have a great time at Disney.
So still not scales for me, but the good news is our eating habits are getting way better. My mom went to Vegas and came back with pneumonia, ended up at the hospital with her and a few doctors visits, but she had no energy and was so weak. So I did all the cooking and there was no eating out, we have gotten on a roll of eat at home with only a little bit of eating out and a little take out. Last weekend was the most as it was my weekend so we had take out Friday night and Dinner out with the family on Saturday at an Italian Buffet.
We have been keeping out fridge stocked with veggies, but fruits have been a little harder to find at a good price. Also finally found a salad mom can eat so we now stock up on kale salad which can go with dinner. We are getting more veggies in and trying new dishes so I am happy.
Now I am just hoping the nice weather will bring me motivation, I have been lacking energy lately.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Good for you. It's tough not to fall into the trap of eating out. We are all so tired with busy lives and we also resort to take out at least once a week.
Funny how the most important thing which is taking care of ourselves falls by the wayside and yet we need to take care of us first in order to not be so tired from our busy lives. What a vicious circle.

Good morning, everyone! Well, off to visit the Mouse!
Granny...that happened to me, too, on our Mediterranean cruise..with all the port-calls and walking tours, I had to borrow one of my hubby's belts to keep my jeans up on the flight home! Honest, that's exactly what happened!!
Have a great, successful week, everyone!!
