And you want to get rid of that crabgrass before the seeds disperse, otherwise you'll never get rid of it. The seeds can live dormant in the garden for years. They suck big time.

Lots of lovely things in everyone's gardens (except that crabgrass)!

Here are a few pics of the day lily patches in the back and the front garden lilies. I transplanted a bunch of gomphrena and zinnias in the back and front today so they will be blooming by September.

Been eating so much salad from the garden! This week we have had lots of peas, green/yellow beans and a few cherry tomatoes.

Not sure if I would grow this one again. purchased at superstore and there were no details saying it was a small patio variety. It is nice that it has matured earlier than the other plants.
My three yr old gave his buddy hell last week during a playdate... He was told "they are not ready yet!" He picked 2 orange tomatoes, and 4 green ones

    Roma's

Hydrangea in full bloom! One stem has this beautiful half purple half blue flower

Here is a sad pic I was trying to avoid this year. It has been so hot, and even watering everyday just hasn't been enough for this other hydrangea. A few cooler days to come, so hopefully not is all lost. It seems to be a bit slower to flower than others I have seen in the neighbourhood. Any suggestions for next year?

I love the blue hydrangeas. I had one for years and never got any blooms only to realize I was pruning it at the wrong time. It eventually got choked out by one of my Annabelle hydrangeas which freaking throw runners all over the place and take over.

I am disappointed about the Fleabane...I was really hoping it was an annual of some sort, but i'll just pull it out.....but Im still going to leave the plants with the little flowers on them and see if something comes out. If it doesn't i'll pull it out in the fall.

This is Conyza canadensis aka Horseweed…it is a common weed - I would get rid of it asap.

A couple of pics.. the catalpa tree in all its glory, too bad the flowers don't last very long... and a clematis that has gone nuts, I've had it so long now I don't remember what variety it is. I'll post more later, it's quite the rigmarole posting photos from this computer. My old one was much easier to use. Doesn't help that I can't use ImageShack anymore.
