sounds interesting but dos it cook evenly, I mean since the legs are attached and take longer to cook than a breast or do you remove the breast once cooked or are the legs deboned, sorry for all the question BUT I am intrigued

Lizzie I hope to be mortgage free in 5 years, 2 more years until renewal and then 3 years after that our term is up, can't wait but by then I will probably be paying rent for the boys should they choose to attend college or university but time will tell.

I need to change purses as my current one has seen the biscuit it's ready for the trash - so the question is

Does anybody want to take part in the purse challenge, it can be a tidy up, switching from your summer to your fall/winter purse or a purging of receipts or junk at the bottom of your purse. How does a week sound???? Starting tomorrow or whenever you see fit!!!
You gals can tell me excuse the expression to "piss off" with my challenges I won't be offended

    Good Evening Everyone,
Nancy I have come to terms with the fact that if I do give her the money she needs I probably will not see it back. My main concern is her doing the same thing again, she knew she was running out of money and out of money yet she keep using credit. Let's just say my idea of an emergency and hers are not the same. So today we sat down and had a long talk right or wrong she has agreed to some things, not sure she is happy about it me the child telling her what to do but it is what it is. We have always had this odd role reversal and it just continues on. A big one is no more redeeming points all points will now be saved for Christmas shopping. As well Christmas will be done on a smaller scale, no putting it one credit cards. Any large credit purchases will be discussed. We are lucky that my car is paid for so no monthly payments because right now if I had car payments that would be enough to sink us.

FBM the potato soup is super simple:
    In a crock pot put
6 Large potatoes peeled and diced
    1 medium onion diced
    3 cloves of garlic minced
1 Container of Chicken broth (910 ml)
    Salt & Pepper to taste
1/4 cup butter (I do not use this I add maybe 2 tablespoons)

Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours until potatoes are tender, Mash potatoes than add:
    1 Cup Cheddar Cheese
1 Cup Cream (I used half & half)

You can also store what I call the base (mashed prior to adding cheese and cream) and than one night just heat and add renaming ingredients for a quick dinner.

Coupongirl - My clothing situation is all over the place. I am lucky to work in a super casual office so I get to wear jeans and whatever, only rule is no bare shoulders and obvious other things covered so I wear a lot of shrugs. My clothes have to be office and home wear I do not have two separate sets of clothing. We also have work shirts which I am nutritious for not wearing them. Since I do not go out a lot going to work is when I show off my style so I wear them once in awhile but not daily like others. My one weakness used to be when I was into a guy I would buy clothes for us to go out since my clothing is limited, but since the dates never happen I have stopped doing this as I have a whole section in my closet which I am keeping. I am also bad for keeping old clothing some bigger and some smaller for when my weight changes, but as for day to day my clothing is very limited.

I will have to post my deals from this weekend tomorrow as I am off to can some tomatoes quickly before bed. Everyone have a wonderful evening.

Laundry is going, last load in the washer, should have done around 10.

I have baked potato soup on the crock pot, we had some potatoes to use up so figured soup was a great option. Think this will be tomorrow's dinner since Mom is working, she can take it with her and I can heat up once I get home.

Mom is going back to work this week, so we need to start meal planning and prepping ahead or else dinner will be a complete disaster since I believe most days this week I will be home first depending on if I have to work late. So needless to say the next couple weeks of adjusting to Mom being back at work and me possibly needing to do overtime to work on our current projects we need to have the prep done and quick and easy meals we can make because we need to cut out the eating out. Our eating out costs have gone through the roof again, not good.

Money is going to be super tight in the up coming months, Mom has been barely working and living off the money she got when my Nanny passed away, well she is out of money and actually told me last week she is back in debt. Which has me freaked out because she wants to borrow the money from me to pay off her debt but not only that she also has no money to help with the house bills so come next month I will have to start paying all house bills just as our bills are going up. Both phone & cable have gone up, Hydro will not start to increase as we go into the colder weather (base board heating and most floors only have 2 baseboard heaters so they run 24/7 and the house is still cold), and our fees for our house are going up. So yeah me, not sure I will be able to cover all over this unless I pick up even more overtime at work, I don't need to come home other than to sleep right??? (Oh how I hope I am joking, I had been planning to cut back my hours once this increase goes through but now for financial reasons that will not happen). Trying to find ways to cut back but I am getting resistance.

The good news was I was able to do an amazing shop yesterday and stock up on certain items and as long as no one goes crazy with these products we should easily have a 6 month to 1 year supply. I will post the details of this later.

As always so much to get done today but I really have no ambition (my body is screaming for a day off, ha ha not going to happen anytime soon). Okay no more time to sit here must go to dishes. Have a great day everyone.
    Ashley...you are a fantastic daughter.
Good job on always making sure that you and your Mom, have what you need.

    wow what a conquered day.
all laundry done, put away. all shirts ironed put away.
    house is vacuumed, cleaned.
3 projects in their new home. one being completed tonite after a last minute color change... *sigh*

as for the challenge ..I have a leather purse that carries everything i need.(probably some things i don't).
that includes a collapsible cane for days when i just need the support.
i periodically take out garbage (receipts, kleenex) etc.

Ashley needs a week off! If you have internet, cut the cable to save money after giving 30 days' notice. You and Mom will get over it and can make a weekly run to the library to pick a few titles for the week.
Simple suppers-grilled sandwiches might help or just toast the bread then put in whatever fridge contents seem to make the most sense. Pantry surprise, as it were. Tortilla chips and whatever works too.
For anyone with the sniffles, I suggest slipping some sliced or grated fresh ginger into broths or soups to give some extra zing and help stave off colds. I like to do this with those Mr. Noodle packs and also toss in some California mix veg as well or add dried parsley/basil as well. Last winter, I don't recall having a full-on cold. Sinus issues yes and tickly tonsils but not a cold.
Heat is not on but when day is warm, I like keeping the kitchen window open a little bit in case someone is cooking, the steam goes out and air keeps fresh. Cannot really keep window open overnight now that it gets chilly at sunset. Love the toaster oven for warmth when heating food and having something boiling on the stove-a mug of tea is portable heat for a few minutes best enjoyed in sunny living room.
Saturday night, made a chocolate chiffon cake-so worth the effort and with tea! Warmth was lovely too.
2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

I had to put the heat on last week with all the snowfall and chilly temps but this week it is off due to above average temps!

    Morning everyone!!!

Laundry is in the wash, dishes are done and need to get moving on the spaghetti sauce, haven't decided if I will use Jaden's recipe or try a new one BUT either way I better get moving.

I switched over my purse this am was pretty surprised that I only had a few things in there that really did not belong....dog meds . So my cherished faux leather red purse is in the trash BUT I now have a new to me black leather purse that I got at the re-use it centre a few months back it's Derek Alexander which apparently is quite pricey according to the internet but heck I got it for free so that's make me , I will admit I normal buy cheap purses BUT I now have a stylish "apparently" expensive - let's see if it lasts just as long as my cheap ones .

Well off to the races and Wishing everyone a superb and frugal day.
