Hooks can get expensive, especially when they grow legs like mine do. lol My recliner keeps eating them. I was going through my bag of hooks the other day and found one of my moms. It had the price stamped on it .15
Here`s a trick mom taught me. She was allergic to the steel or aluminum...broke out in hives. She wrapped her hooks with masking tape. Years later when I couldn`t hold a fine hook, I did the same and still do. It also keeps the hook from sliding in your hand and cuts down on the fatigue. I just ordered a couple hooks from Herrschners on Monday. I hope they`re good. I paid $17 for one. Hope I don`t lose these. I used to buy them at Zellers and can`t find that kind anywhere. Walmart has the Red Heart but I hate them.

Oh my word-my DH just went to get his haircut( Great Clips near us had a sale for $6.95) until Saturday. So the hairdresser says to him-I did a double take when you came in-I thought you were Michael Douglas!! I will never, ever hear the end of this-at least the 4th person to say it to him!! Actually his head is not too swollen -we think it is just too funny as we don't really see the resemblance. Then DD googles a pic of MD and she says- oh Dad you really do look like him. He was also once asked if he was Martin Sheen. Give me strength!!
Oh and give me strength on another note too. I might have made a crazy, rash decision today!! The Mum of the 4 twins phoned and asked me to come to Disneyland with them in May-I will hang out at the condo and the pool with the babies( they are still breastfeeding) while they take the bigger boys out to Disney, Legoland etc. I am sure it will be a wild and crazy "vacation". Anyway my family is used to me travelling alone at times but I might need a vacation when I get back. Maybe I can even fit in a bit of shopping!Last edited by lizzie bargain; Thu, Jan 29th, 2015 at 06:06 PM.

Andit - I was going to guess water treatment plant - HONEST I WAS!
Crochetlady, I had to switch to using bamboo knitting needles because I'm allergic to the metal ones too. I have a SLEW of knitting needles that I have inherited from here and there. My mum used to have a store that sold "wool" when I was about 10 and I still have those needles, as well as the ones that my friends have given me knowing that I knit, and the ones I inherited from my mum - then there's the US vs. Canadian sized ones. Maybe I can pare it all down before our Church Garage sale in the spring.
Natalka - slippery times out there! Be careful, my friend! Yes, NOT falling sometimes hurts as much as falling! We just had a rain/freezing rain/snow system slide through. I was supposed to go to choir practice but I will yodel at home tonight! (We're supposed to entertain at the "Adult Living Centre" tomorrow but with this weather, it might get cancelled.)

Good morn, everyone!
Nothing much shakin' today except hopefully catching up on some home stuff, as long as I'm able.
