I love the Bay! It would be nice to have a second upscale option though. I haven't set foot in a Walmart for about 3 years. I go to Target if I have some sort of emergency and need to grab something quick - it's very close to my house. Otherwise, I'd never set foot in there either.

Another hiccup. The story keeps getting weirder and weirder.
"Due to issues raised by some of Target's landlords, we must temporarily cease selling FF&E [furniture, fixtures and equipment] until further notice,"a March 9 company email informed various Target staff.

Agreed!!
I had read that in addition to the layoffs mentioned in the article you posted in Minneapolis and India, that there were layoffs in Oregon where their marketing and advertising branch is located.
Target certainly dug itself into a hole.

Funny I noticed that the very first day after filing and posted about it here, but Target employee Anne Doherty accused me of making things up. She works in pricing, you know.
Just goes to show you they are all a pack of criminals using every trick in the book to scam Canadian consumers.

Smart shoppers know what is a good price and what's not. There will always be people who see XX% off and think it's a deal.
I'm sure that prices varied before and after the announcement but is there PROOF of price fixing? Their examples didn't really prove anything to me. There could be a lot of explanations. Not saying it didn't happen, just questioning... Also if everything is in the liquidators hands, why aren't they getting blamed?

Don't know about prices being jacked up, but been there. But don't trust anything I say, I have shopped at Walmart! Gasp!
Not looking good between those allegations, and allegations from suppliers that Target ramped up orders just before closing.
Funny how Target has seemed to pee off everybody from charities to suppliers to tenants to pharmacists to customers. Remember how much goodwill they had before opening and how excited people were? Unfortunate that was squandered.Last edited by mollyh; Wed, Mar 11th, 2015 at 02:51 PM.

I have recently shopped both the US and Canadian targets in the same day. Guess what? The prices for most things (home decor, clothing etc) is exactly the same price for the same item. A number of times I purchased the same item in Canada and the US because I needed multiples and yes the Canada stores were short on stock. Guess what? I paid $49.99 CDN and $49.99 USD for the same lamp. I paid $19.99 CDN and $19.99 USD for maternity tanks. I wish I still had the receipts. But yet people will still tell me the prices in Canada were higher.
I shopped Target Canada a couple of times a week leading up to and after the liquidation. Other than the sales being gone, I did not see these price increases. Yet people will still say the prices are higher.
I'm sure these people didn't shop there before the liquidation, if they don't want to shop there now, oh well. Thanks for leaving the real deals for me!!!

I do not see jacked up prices either...i actually never have from day 1 Target came to Canada.. And the fb post about the aveeno $5.99 and $7.99... The $5.99 is a sale/flyer price. I remember because everywhere had aveeno for $5.99. I think there are more pricing errors ($4.99 m&m for $0.49) than purposely jacking up prices..
But hey, if that keeps shoppers out of Target, thats fine by me... More deals for me!Last edited by Meeeks85; Wed, Mar 11th, 2015 at 02:55 PM.

How is that any different than any other store? Pricing changes at stores frequently(not talking about flyer sales, just regular prices). The past 4 times I've been to Walmart(in a 5 week period) to buy dh his freaking pickles the price has been different all 4 times and they were never in the flyer or on rollback.
