Good morning, everyone.

Dealing with a rootbeer hangover this morning (suffice to say, I overindulged
), so mostly naptime today - playtime with the brats will have to wait til tomorrow. On the plus side, I got to meet some nice young athletes from Puerto Rico, who couldn't get over the welcome they received in Toronto. Yeah for us Canadians making our visitors feel at home!
The only downside was my stupidity in not checking whether my camera battery was charged. Ugh. I felt like an idiot watching the fireworks, holding a camera that wouldn't turn on.
Of course, it's not over yet. ParaPanAm's Opening Ceremony is Aug 7th - I'll have to make sure I'm prepared for that. In the meantime, I'm leaving the flag in the window showing our Canadian pride. Welcome, everyone! GoCanadaGo!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

@walkonby : Aw, so nice of you to buy your DD things. I guess I have a lifetime ahead to do that for my LO, hmm?
Let me just get through the college/university years first...
@coupon girl : Thank goodness it's treatable!
He's singing because he knows they taste so yummy!
@SassyAshley : What kind of food sealing bags do you use? We're currently using the Ziploc freezer bags, but I'm wondering if there are others that last longer.
Like you, I've been noticing that several of my clothes have outlived their lifespan. No time to really shop though, unless it's a gift card for stores that are closing like Jacob and Target.
Will bookmark your blog to read later! Looks interesting!

DH went to get an oil change for the car Saturday morning. The mechanic's parking lot was packed an hour before opening so he had to go to the dealership. It was over $52.
Sigh. Then, off we went to a family trip home to my parents. Grandma gave the birthday girl two pieces of cake and had her bouncing off the walls until 10 PM. Good grief!
Sunday we celebrated LO's actual birthday with a (short) trip to the library. She sent her books down the conveyor belt and was disappointed that her But Not The Hippopotamus book was not at the dinner table when she got home. Poor thing.
She also filled a diaper soon after we arrived and loudly announced to the entire library what she did. Maybe it's time to teach her how to say it in a different language.
Yesterday, I realized that with daycare providing diapers and us still using cloth diapers at home, we have three extra boxes of diapers she's grown out of. Hopefully, we'll be selling these to a friend and using the money to get the next size up. Toilet training can't come soon enough! First, we'll need to borrow some more pants and maybe buy new underpants. There should be some new sales in the next few months and maybe even a sticker chart going up in the bathroom! Exciting times.
My knee is still ridiculously itchy, and I still eye sidewalk cracks with suspicion. LO keeps pointing to my knees and says "owie". Owie indeed!

@sweet sparrow we actually have a food saver, the cost is greater then Ziploc but the long term savings are way better. We have a freezer than needs to be replaced it is not frost free and freezer burns everything. I cannot afford a new freezer but we Food Saver all our meat it can do in this freezer with no issue.
This week I will also be trying to freeze quinoa and rice in these bags to make our own microwave rice like the minute rice bowls.

Went home on my lunch. To an empty house...ah so nice lol. Well the dog was there but she was sleeping. I could have done a million things but didn't. Will try and get stuff done tonight. Looking forward to the long weekend to putter around the house and hopefully scratch a few things off my to do list. Realizing time is ticking and I better sort the back to school stuff so I'm ready. Yikes!

Can you not exchange the diapers at Walmart? I've heard of people doing so without a receipt.

Good Day, everyone!
I was up all night - drat to having fallen asleep in the evening when I went to just rest my feet! So then I slept in the morning.
Cooler day today, which is lovely for me. Hoping the prediction of at least a little bit of rain comes tonight.
Enjoy the day!

I know a number of people have questions the cost of the food saver and the cost of the bags but I can honestly say the long run savings are totally saving money with it especially with how we purchase meats in large quantities everything gets broken down and frozen in single serve packs.

Heading home! My wonderful man has started dinner because he didn't want us eating too late. I will pull the item that will be picked up tonight (from our Storage lockey buy
so another $4 profit being put in the envelope. Then I will make oatmeal, boil eggs and make French toast for the kids for the freezer. Really trying to get back on track and prepping our food for the week. Will put another blanket in washer and hang to dry after 7 tonight since it is so hot out and to keep up on laundry. (I love fresh couch blankets
)

Went and got my hair cut today at the hairdressing school. The young woman assigned to tint and cut my hair was SO NERVOUS. I swear she cut every hair individually! But she was sweet and in the end I told her I would definitely ask for her the next time. She was actually crying with relief when the teacher told her what a good job she had done.
Then I came home to hear that the local Electric company will pay for at least PART of the digging up of our front sidewalk as their disconnect is right at the house. I'm so relieved but we have to wait until a week on Friday before it will get fixed. Just hoping there are no wild storms before then.
I tried knitting on the back porch for a while but it was too hot (even under the gazebo with a breeze.) So what did I do? Planted the new marigolds in the garden and watered everything at the back.
DH has gone out to pick up some things for supper. (To go into the Corned Beef Hash that he makes - breakfast for supper) He's been stuck at home for the past few days so I think just getting out was important.
Tomorrow I go back to the Naturopath with good news. VERY FEW headaches in the past month since I've seen him.
DH is back so I should go see if I can help. BFN!

Still around. No baby. Lots of random contractions. Can't stay in there forever. Waiting for contractions to strengthen and become regular. Who knows when?!
