Nat, your cat baby is back? Congrats! You must be feeling relaxed now. How is she/he now? Where was she all that time? How did you find her?

I came here to share something. I couldnt get it out of my mind so i thought i should share it here because i always smile when i remember this post.
Those were my first few days on SC. I used to read how lynn, nat and walkonby talked to each other and i thought you were real friends who went to school/college/job together and then you used to chat here when you were at home. And i read a post from walkonby. She and her hubby was once trying to move a fridge (or may be stove) forwhatever reason. Something happened to the plug and she unconsciously put a butter knife in the socket with bare hands. Lol. It akways make me laugh. I cant get it out of ny mind. Lol

Sorry walkonby. I had to share it to get it out of mind. Now i can sleep peacefully. Lol

amira, it's definitely wonderful to have Taffy cat back, we got her Sunday.
Though we don't know where she was the full four weeks, for sure the last three or four days she was under a shed at the back of someone's yard - just a block south of where we live. The woman there had noticed paw prints in the snow, and saw Taffy and realized that she was so thin - but she couldn't get her. She left out food and water for her, and knew Taffy was eating. She found our ad on Kijiji and contacted us - she knew it was the right cat because Taffy has such specific colouring.
So she's made a LOT of progress over this week - she's gotten strength back, and she just needs to fatten up - well, actually she's always been slight, even though she's a large cat.

As for me, Lynn, and Walkonby - yep, it seems that we should have been friends for years!

Hope all is going well with you, amira - how is school?

    Have a great day, everyone!

Thanks Mrs. P. and Hicks for your inspirational posts.
They so reminded me of one box of 'paper' that I've been
holding onto for 34 years. Every time I see it, I tell myself
I should get rid of it, because it holds no significance for
my future well-being. I think I need a therapeutic burn,
and I should do it while I can still use my fire pit, before
the snow comes. I will let you all know when it is done,
and I think that promise will actually pressure me to do it.

Maybe we could start our own little "Declutter the Soul" movement.
    I'm sure almost everyone has a box/envelope/gift/whatever
that does not contribute to their well-being. Getting rid of it
is the goal, and the method of disposal is up to you.
Afterwards, we could share, with limited details, how
    the experience affected us.
    Anyone else on board?

I so support what is being suggested! I have no where to burn mine sadly, ( no fireplace ) and they frown upon open backyard fires in my neighbourhood.....can ya just imagine the eyes peeking out from behind the drapes and blinds in our connected backyard oasis if I tried??

    Good morning everyone!

Amira, I totally understand your laughing at Walks...we do it all the time. Have been for years...

And of course, you're right...some of us, quite a few, actually, seem to have meshed into a long-distance family. Avon and I have become "sisters" and have visited with each other and our hubbies, we've chatted on the phone with others here, and generally have seen each other through happy and sad times. We're a diverse group to be sure, but share an hour here and there, a simple post, just to let another soul know we genuinely do care.

And we're always ready to welcome newcomers into our little corner of the world...

Oiy, the accumulation of "iimportant" papers. I also have a newspaper here: "Germany Surrenders!", announcing the end of the war. So interesting to read but what I enjoy are the ads: dresses for a few dollars, washers, dryers for under $100, lol. I would love to preserve it, but how....laminate every page?

margy, I did the declutter the soul thing when we moved two years ago - for no reason (honestly), I had letters/postcards and stuff from the bf I had before my husband - and it was 25 years later, so I got rid of those. Actually I had kept some of the postcards because they were so beautiful (for a time he had been at universities in Italy), but not for other reasons.
I did re-read all of them, though - now THAT was interesting, lol!

    Morning All,
Finally Friday and tonight is our company Christmas Party, we get to bring our spouses so should be fun.
The weekend should be super nice, they are calling for +10! Crazy but I don't mind the lack of snow, just means more long walks with the fur baby.
    Have a wonderful day!

I returned home yesterday from Maine and we just beat all the snow that fell in Moncton by about 2 hours. Though our ride home was non-stop rain.

I was happy to read that Taffy returned home.
