Garage sales today - Not very many, being that it's a long weekend, but a great score!

-Set of 10 Sears brand white dinner plates - $5! Need to be loved a little with Barkeeper's Friend to get rid of the cutlery marks but otherwise exactly what I was hoping for.
-FREEBIES! Slotted metal spoon, 5 plates, 10 glasses, 2 creme brulee dishes from when they were sold at costco (great for reusing! I'm going to use them for individual lava cakes and mousse), some cat toys, a roll of ribbon, pair of shoes and 2 mason jar mugs all for freeeeeee!
-A dozen or so Corelle plates (mostly small, 3 dinner plates as well) and 2 OXO measuring cups - $2.50!
-Costco Kirkland frying pan and Crock Pot Lil Dipper - $2!

So a great day all around :D :D How much happiness I can get out of $10!

OMG, Chantel, I've been looking all over for Corelle plates to replace broken ones. I've loved mine for 30 odd years (some more odd than others!) But some have broken over the past year and our new kitchen is a different colour.

    Wonderful finds you've got!

Garage sales are awesome for Corelle! Everybody has had some at some point. Some patterns are easier to find than others.

If yours are from the 80s or 70s, you'll likely find quite a few pieces here and there but never a set. It takes patience but you can probably find your pattern and fill out your missing plates. Lots of people are in your position where they have broken a few and have just moved on to a new set. If you do find pieces that match yours but look like hell because of the cutlery marks, buy them anyway and try the Barkeeper's Friend. They'll probably look brand new when you're done!

Try to find the pattern name you have or want through google, and post on ISO groups or Kijiji with a photo of the pattern. Someone might be happy to sell you their few odd pieces for a couple bucks Lots of people seem to have just a few of something tucked away in a cupboard and they've never thought to get rid of it. Happy hunting!

Wow, a deal without even leaving my house! My mom went to a friend's house and she had a makeup bag full of high-end gift-with-purchase makeup that she wouldn't use. Tons of Clinique lipsticks, Skinn eyeliners, the works! My mom doesn't wear much more than mascara so she let us split the bag full.

I got probably $200 worth of makeup, my sister got about the same. We're happy campers!

She'll be getting a BIG plate of Christmas cookies sent her way this year. I bake and my sister makes great cards, so she'll make a thank you card now and I'll bake later

I thought my deals were over for this week, but I went to Loblaws to grab some $0.49 shaving cream (thanks @KnittingNurse) and saw a rack with reduced bug spray. Off clip-on regular $15.99 clearance price $2.94. Plus I had a buy 1 get 1 free mail out coupon, so I got 2 for $2.94! Yay!

Went to Old Navy today and found a bunch of active wear tank tops for $1.47 and found 3 summers tops ranging from 97 cent to $2.49. I just started working out and the workout clothing was a steal!

Also went to Carlton Cards and purchased 11 wedding cards for a dollar each.
