Morning! What started off as a crappy day at work is now looking like a good day! Funny how things can change. Guess the report I was dreading didn't take as long as I thought and now I feel free. With that said though I am looking at planning a personal day next week I think. Just for me. No house work. No errands.

DS is having his birthday sleepover this weekend. Help me! I am mostly ready. Tonight we will get the family room ready. The boys will camp out in there overnight so will move out the big coffee table etc. Thinking it will be a good night for me to hang out in the basement and start my cleaning. Will move everything out of the area I am setting back up as a couch/tv area and start cleaning (washing walls etc) Then decide on paint colour!

I finally called the baby gate company again because the safety latch broke on two of our gates. They gave discontinued these gates, so she is emailing me pictures to choose new gates. Then they are mailing it out to me as a type of exchange. I'm very happy with this because I have been unable to get someone to answer the phone in the past.

I spent a little time in the shed this morning. I dug out Bigger clothes for the twins and winter clothes for my two boys. I already bought baby girl a second hand snow suit for $10.

I use j-cloths (usually the Canadian Tire brand- 50 for $2)

I asked the above question because the more I let DH wash the dishes, the more sponges he seems to go through with our kitchen knives (they just slice them). If I start knitting them, I'm not sure if it becomes more durable. It would mean a hot water wash, which would be more pricey.

I just use regular dish cloths, and use a Vileda scrunge for tough crusty stuff. I just put them in the microwave to disinfect after dishes in the evening. I also use those metal looking ones that look like they had a bad perm, for really tough stuff.

Just a regular dishcloth, plus plastic scrubbies for minor uckies, SOS pads if really serious.

I am still giggling from the "bad perm" sponges. My mom repurposed an old bath pouf that fell apart before it could be used into something resembling those metal scouring pads so it's a lot gentler. It even has "dimples" for scrubbing power. Odd, but she can seemingly make anything into anything. It hasn't fallen apart yet, but because of the small mesh, food gets stuck in it and can't wash out. I don't use it but keep it by the sink as a reminder of how creative my mom is.

Speaking of bath poofs, I am reluctant to use them, as I feel they also hold old soap and (hold my nose) skin cells that I really don't want to re-introduce to my body, thank-you.

I just mopped the front bathroom and foyer floor. We're waiting for recommendations for a new cleaning service- this is hard on the back!

I also let my laptop totally run down the battery and I was able to get it to work this morning, but haven't tackled printing the wedding ceremony yet. I have to shop for a nice wedding card, as well. Haven't had word yet about whether the bride's grand-dad will be out of hospital and able to attend the wedding. I think that at this point, it's unlikely. I told the couple that we can go up to the hospital and go through the vows there with him on Sunday morning so he can feel he was part of it.
He is the last of my mother's relatives of that generation.

Well, DH's nurse is on her way.

Got to check and see if the door is dry.

I did two quick stops before going to a second hand shop with all 3 kids. I'm pretty happy with what I purchased, especially since baby boy was not cooperating. This store has 6 different colours of tags, each week there is a colour of tag that is 50% off, they go through all 6 colours and then repeat.
$1.50 blue t-shirt for me - regular $3 - 50% red tag sale.
$2 Pre-K paint shirt
$2 fleece sleeper for baby boy to grow into.
$10 for 3 Halloween costumes.
Cars race car driver for our son, his choice.
Bumble bee and pink butterfly costumes for our twins. I think the costumes will be big, but they can walk and they can wear layers to keep warm.

Since my garden survived the frost pretty well, I am preparing a box of veggies to be purchased early this evening. It includes: yellow zucchinis, pickling cucumbers, yellow string beans, large yellow tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, and Swiss chard.

Mae like to use disposable yellow sponges with the green scrubby side. We buy them from the dollar store, a pack of 12 for $1.50(?).

Dishes we use a Vileda Sponge but also have these blue scrubbies from the $ Store which we use on pots and pans.
