Our sweet son is coming for supper, so YAY!
He got good news - he will be going to see a surgeon Thursday, very nice that it's that soon.

News from my oldest sister, who has had some polyps found during colonoscopies lately - second time, it's benign. YAY!
Her husband, with serious heart problems, will have surgery to get an ICD (defibrillator) implanted. Had to google to see the diff between it and a pacemaker. Hoping it will help him, he's doing rather poorly.

Oh, suuuuure! NOW my DH tells me there are tickets available for today's Packers play-off game in Green Bay! Even where we sat before, they're only $360 for the pair! Would he tell me yesterday? Oh nooooooo.....Brat.
He also looked up Superb owl tickets.... $11,000/ ticket is a touch steep.

I wondered what "owl" tickets were at first, even if they WERE superb! LOL! But really, Lynn, you would be freezing your patooties off - and everyone needs their patooties!

Nat, I'm glad to hear all your good news. My mother's cousin who is the only one of her generation still around has one of those ICDs - he is like the energizer bunny! Although he has certainly been through a lot!

Our phones were out all day and I thought it was because of the storm but as the day wore on I decided to check with neighours - nope! - Seemed to be our problem - so after moving furniture, checking other outlets - was it the plug, the wire, the phones, the etc. etc. etc. - Finally I found a combination that worked - a new wire and a new place to plug it in - in an inconvenient place in the kitchen but it's working. In order to check further, I would have to unplug the major Bell Service line and I didn't feel like screwing EVERYTHING up for the evening - so - tomorrow - GET BLOOD WORK DONE! - do some essential banking - phone DH's dr. about an issue - mail birthday card to my SIL who shares my BDay next weekend - GET CPAP machine stuff which I need and check out this phone issue when we really don't want to watch TV.

I went to pack away Christmas today only to find that the NEW cardboard box which the NEW Christmas tree fits into was soaking wet and frozen to the soaking wet and frozen carpet on our balcony!!! Grr! The whole window frame has at least 1 " of ice on it on the INSIDE! Not happy!

I also have to work around the PSW and the nurse who will be making visits tomorrow. At a bare minimum, I need to get the bloodwork and the banking stuff done!

DH's daughter put a post on Facebook today to share some pictures and also share that our grand-daughter's (17 months) latest phrases include, " I'm one smart cookie!" and "Where did Opa (DH) go?"

Well, Lynn, I know what you're doing - those Packers are doing a great job! I hope you're wearing your toque! (Or they might - gulp - lose! - you can't let THAT happen - hat head or not!)

My Pack shredded them! There're Giants killers!My second choice team,the Steelers, won too, since all's well with the world! @avoncallingu , we looked so awful in the first quarter I had to leave until DH said it was safe to watch again !
My Pack. And Avon, it was freezing when we were there in October 6 years ago, but ahhhhh..it was wonderful! just breathing the same air as my Pack is enough to keep warm...

Oh, Sweetheart, it's so very hard! Our virtual arms are around you! That pales by comparison. Your post about grieving was so moving. It's not something you can avoid but it's so hard to get through!

Eeeekk! Is it mouse day again? @dededi, I just think they're the cutest things. DH and I had a little white mouse when he was taking yet another summer course whien he was a new high school teacher. He had to train it to run counter-clockwise on its little wheel to get food. It was such a fast little learner! We let it out at a golf course here in the summer...I still remember that cutie pie...

It looks like you southerners are in for a whack of snow tomorrow..be careful out there! The weather channel is showing a video of that semi jack-knifed on the 401 near Bowmanville. (So silly, my auto correct hated that word, had to correct it several times!). Anyway, I could not believe the speeds some of those cars were going in horrible weather! What on earth do they think they're doing?!
Don't be one of those idiots if you're out there today or tomorrow....leave earlier if you have to...Drive like an old person...that's HOW we managed to live this long!
