not to toot my own horn but this batch came out so delicious!! Used 3 cans tomato paste stirred into beef broth as a base for the sauce, but added 2 jars Ragu later on.
Used plenty of lean ground beef, easily 2 lbs or more.
Chopped veggies included onions, celery, bell peppers and de-seeded tomatoes
( had about 8 semi soft ones that needed to be used up).
Punched it up with dry herbs and of course chili powder.
Oh and I pressure cooked the beans for 20 min. to speed up the cookingLast edited by walkonby; Wed, Jan 11th, 2017 at 05:02 PM.

Cheap pizza from the freezer with a tossed salad and chocolate milk.
I think tomorrow's supper will be bison soup with pearl barley, lentils, and veggies from the fridge.
edit: Dh said he'd prefer wraps tomorrow, so we'll have roast bison wraps instead. I'll freeze the bison gravy and some roast for another day. It's really good meat, but I'm getting board of it. Time to pull a different meat from the freezer for Friday.Last edited by Angela273; Thu, Jan 12th, 2017 at 03:05 PM.
