It was a busy day yesterday, but I still picked up some deals at Sobeys after ds was done gymnastics. 10% Tuesday, bonus AM, redeemed a couple rain checks, $11.25 in coupons, and submitted my receipts for 2x $10 Sobeys gc promotion.

This is morning I have the kids at the Family Centre. We attended the Pete the Cat story time and did the craft. The kids are currently eating the snacks that I packed, then it’s free play time.

I understand the feeling for the price of celery right now. My family friend has been looking for sale on it since she uses so much, but nothing! I even checked ALL grocery stores across the province and no one had it on sale, best price she could get was $3.47 @ Walmart. Hopefully we will get a sale for celery soon!!

But... I am liking a lot of the flyers this week! They will definitely help to plan and work on the FOUR shopping trips I will be doing over the next few days (Sisters - Tomorrow, Family Friend - Friday, Parents - Sat OR Sun, Mine - Tuesday), It's gonna be a busy week in JUST shopping, never mind the school work I have to do still!!!

A few noteworthy deals that are on the list so far...
    - Tropicana OR Simply OJ: $1.99 Zehrs (Thurs to Sat) OR $1.97 Simply @ FB
    - Schneiders Sausages: $2.99 Sobeys (Fri to Sun) WITH $2.00 Coupon
    - Avocado 6pk: $1.98 RCSS PLUS 200Pts/$1 Offer
    - Oral B Toothbrush: $1.00 RCSS WITH $2.00 WUB2 Coupon
    - Cucumber/Beefsteak Tomato: $0.88 EACH/PER LB
    - Post Cereals (365-550g): $1.88 Metro St.Kitts WITH $1.50 Coupon
    - Oasis Hydrafruit Juice (1.65L): $2.00 FC WITH $1.00 Coupon
    - Chicken Legs: $1.29/lb Fortinos PLUS (Hopefully) 200Pts/$1 Offer
    - Kelloggs Cereals: $4.44 Fortinos WITH Up to $1.00 Coupon PLUS $5 WUB2 Prepaid Visa
    - Broccoli Bunch: $0.98 FB PLUS (Hopefully) 200Pts/1 Offer
    - Prestige Eggs (18pk): $2.88 Foodland (Thurs to Sat) PLUS (Hopefully) 600Pts/$3 Offer

Price of celery at Fortinos in January: $3.99. Last week, $4.99. Trying not to faint at the price and will pick reduced price celery whenever I can.

    40 cents in container refunds.
@jasperandchar -hmm, let's say I did not have my appt but I had a terse exchange making it clear no way would I wait up to 2 hours past my appt to see doctor. I kept telling staff if I don't get my appt with her going by a set time, I was walking out. I totally now comprehend why drivers feel highjacked by parking costs. Fortunately I was able to get home on my one fare. I also bought a lottery ticket that gave me a $5 win, so I purchased a wrap to enjoy at home for lunch.

Morning! I really wanted to stay in bed today but stuff to do!!

Tonight- Kitchen 1st- Dinner and clean up. Run dishwasher after 7pm. Have youngest empty once done.
Laundry- Lots to do. It never ends and builds up. Will start as soon as I walk in the door. I can't wait till 7pm or else I won't get it done. Would rather have it done before the weekend.
Groceries- Need some fresh stuff. Will go on my lunch today to Walmart (get some items and use self check out and use change to pay)

We are in play-offs for hockey. We made it thru the 1st round. Just started semi finals last night. Best 3 out of 5. We won the 1st game woohoo. It was very intense!
Taking Grandma to the casino for a late lunch (free) on Saturday and then to DS's game since it is near there. Kill 2 birds with one stone ( a visit and DS's game )

    Have a wonderful day everyone!

Great deal on the sausage. I bought a few last week at the Foodland/Airmiles deal. Oldest DS said he "loves" them. Hope to stock up at .99 a package after sale and coupon!!

10 cents container refund this morning. Stayed up late last night to read the community paper and the flyers (you can tell Spring is on the way by the HBC Beauty flyer-so many bright things inside). No celery mention in the grocery flyers but there are yellow dragonfruits for sale! And I saw a couple of contests in the flyers-who else wants a trip with spending money? I'll post it in Contests.

Sobey's seems to have a few Air Miles offers I like so I'll pop into my local store today.

Air Miles gave me a 50 Bonus Air Miles coupon if I were to spend $50 at HBC. Need to have the HBC Rewards points set up to Auto-convert to Air Miles, which I already have done last year. Not sure what is at HBC that I'd want. Have to wait on a professional service fee quote for another matter then see what I have left over dollarwise before going shopping.

Mom was to have a few ladies auxiliary members over this morning, so I helped set the table with dishes and cutlery last night. As sibling is on afternoon shift, I did not want to make too much noise this morning. Mom and I are on different pages about when to do things but it seems that April is when she'll start making decisions on things to keep and things to let go.

March break for DS next week. I had mentioned awhile ago about going away for a night or 2 but he didn't want to. Received an email yesterday about rooms available at casino next week (Complementary) so I looked online and none available. Decided to call and was able to book free room! Texted DS and told him the plan and that he can bring a friend. Pool. Hot tub. Good food to eat-dinner out and breakfast (all free on comps) And I can take them to the snack bar and they can pick out $20 in free drinks/snacks for the room! Pretty good night away if you ask me. They will bring xbox and hook it up as usual. Happy to have that planned. So I only booked off 1 day for March break this year. What a change!

    currently back from the mall
returned the items to old navy 22.back on my credit card and 27 on gift card ,I looked thru the store I don't really care for their clothing that much for myself anyway

so I popped into eddie bauer it was 60% off clearance I found a top long sleeve 100% cotton a little warmer than I usually wear it is flecked coloured it was 44.99 then on to 29.99 -60%11.99 plus tax 12.26-i joined their email club and they sent out 10.00 off about twice a year (missed last one)-10.00=2.26 I paid wow even cheaper than thrift shopping

then I went to gymboyee got a t-shirt for Ashlyn 1.75 reg 4.99and an undershirt white for 6.25 not that cheap but soo soft and she sure can use another one

then I went into lush and used my $40.00 gift card from my birthday up -spent 2.85 of my own money and have a fair amount of oil bath bombs for my very dry itchy skin -I love this store

By then my poor feet were tired so I came home to have a lovely oil bomb bath

Celery completely loses its texture when frozen, but I keep some frozen for use when I don't have fresh, in recipes where that doesn't matter. For example, if I'm going to dice up fresh celery to put into something that I will simmer until it disappears anyway, frozen is a serviceable replacement. In some other recipes, I use frozen sticks for flavor and simply remove them before serving.

How good a replacement it is is a matter of opinion, so as a caveat, I always suggest that people try a bit first.

Wasted my hour at Walmart. Spent about $11 (change) on a few cartons of juice, dog treats etc. Nothing etc. Then went to $ tree and was going to buy Dempsters hamburger buns and stop at GT for the $4.99 burger patties on sale. Then just decided to stick to my original dinner plan. I will get the burger patties this week and tuck in the freezer for another time. ( I prefer homemade but that takes time and is not cheap anymore. Sometimes cutting corners is ok now and again)

Well they have chopped up frozen celery in bags I wonder if there secret is chopping up and then dipping the bag in warm water slightly open then sealing it by way of letting all the air go that way by sealing it?

    Like a vacuum sealer?
