Good Morning! Happy Hump Day. Snow day here for the kids. DS was all showered and ready in his uniform to go to school lol. I thought he better check if it was a snow day since I heard we had a snow squall warning on the radio when I started the car.
I made a meat pie last night for the kids today.

Me at realizing inside Fortinos this morning that I left my $1 Quaker oatmeal coupon at home. But I went ahead and bought 2 Quaker products, 2 Campbells soups and a flavoured Clover Leaf tuna for the food bank donation plus some grocery items needed for home (yippee at noticing the store also has the $2.99 sale on Kleenex pocket packs as Shoppers does). Went down the canned vegetables aisle and noticed DNO on the shelf cards for two Aylmer's Accent products (fire roasted tomatoes and Italian no salt added). Sigh. Fortinos shoppers at Mall Rd or Upper James stores-are the fire roasted Accents still stocked at your stores?
Yesterday, I applied the Shoppers 20% off coupon and saved $5.60 on my magazines, a greeting card and flavoured Perrier cans with juice! No discount on the newspaper but that was fine. Photo kiosk is still not operable. After a short meal break at home, I took the bus to the city and realized my last best hope for more Hamilton phone directories is gone-the Yellow Pages box by the Rymal stop outside of Shoppers is obviously not in use and moved onto the grass. Box at Stonechurch and Rymal is long gone too. Guess the municipal licensing staff are getting firm on companies who don't have newspaper box permits for their fixtures. Did spot one box at Dundurn and King St W but I did not want to get off the bus. Did collect the updated bus schedules for four people so that task is finally DONE.
Mailed an envelope this morning-glad I had some other denominations of stamps. Have to get to Rexall by tomorrow to see if the stamp deal is possible to get or be out of luck.
Ms. Sunshine is out but the sky has some gray and white snow clouds--crisp day (Mr. Wind is on the loose too). There was a light snowfall just before 9pm yesterday and there's a fine layer of snow on most surfaces today. Sibling has yet to use his snowblower in 2020.
Sobeys sent an e-mail indicating its stores will be plastic bag free by Jan.31. There was a bonus 10AM offer added for the purchase of 3 reusable totes at my store but it's not clear which store bags are eligible. If I could get two sizes of insulated totes and a bag like my 99cent Fortinos PC tote, then I'd have a deal to chase. But I really don't need a fourth reinforced bottom tote-I have three in rotation already.
Must say it's a perfect day to act like a cat and find a window with sunshine and a warm blanket to curl up with. Was thinking why did I not bring my fake fur blanket and do just that in a comfy chair? One day soon...
Had a glance at Longo's new flyer and there will be a flash sale of the tub of Activia yogurt for $1.99 (Fri. Jan.10-Sun. Jan. 12 only) coming soon. Their apple cider is now $3.97 ($1 saving!) and there are Thank You Rewards points offers (like 250 pts for their cake of the month-orange pineapple or 25 pts for their Longo's granola cereal $4.99). Online flyer mentioned that Longos will be working to remove single use plastic bags from Grocery Gateway this year.
Very few coupons for January expiry are left in my envelope to use. I plan to coupon fairy the Dove shampoo and remaining offers in stores soon as I don't need them. I have yet to find the new Ryvita cracker coupon that was posted in the SC Coupon Scan thread.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Good Afternoon Everyone,
I was hoping being back at work and back in routine would calm my anxiety a little bit but actually it is doing the opposite. Yesterday I woke up knowing it would be an off day and I really felt it by the end of the day, grocery shopping was a bit much last night. This morning I woke up feeling better but by the time I go to my office I was what I call spinning, my mind going in 500 directions and feeling shaky.
Good news was this morning did not go as planned and I ended up kicked out of my office and helping other people with stuff so I was able to my mind off everything for a bit.
Last night shopping did not go well, our grocery stores are empty, the number of empty shelves was shocking but I think we have enough to make it to the weekend. I may just need to stop tomorrow or Friday for a few fill in veggies, depending on what is in the flyers.
Also last night I went to Wal-Mart and spent almost $90 in various size bins to help in my clean up at home. I needed more bins for my yarn and I grabbed some extra for some other areas as well. I can see some things that are still "good" mom is struggling with getting rid of as there is nothing wrong with them, we just have more than our household needs so I think I will bin up the extras to be stored in the basement. I would prefer to get rid of them but I think this is a good compromise.
I have a meeting shortly but I think well I finish my lunch I will try to write a to do list for tonight. I am feeling very anxious about everything I need to get done so hopefully this will help me work through it and prioritize.
Have a wonderful day everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Its almost Friday.....ugh I can't wait for the weekend. Absolutely nothing got done last night but DS winning his hockey game so there is that at least!
I had a gas offer on my 2nd PC card. 2000 pts per $20 in gas. I was only able to fill it $39 and change. But only received 1400 PC Pts so put a inquiry in for the 4000 since I figure I was pretty close to the $40 and rounding up would hit $40. We will see.
Tonight: Get stuff done. I wrote out a list and hope to tackle it!Last edited by Frugalbigmama; Thu, Jan 9th, 2020 at 09:47 AM.

I knew I was going to be sitting on hold during a work call this afternoon so I dumped the console of my car in a plastic bag and cleaned out the bag. All that is left in my console now is my garage door opener/DS' wallet and bank book and my extra set of car keys (tons of coupons tossed because they are expired and valid ones put in my coupon folder! Something accomplished!

@lizzie bargain any room in your bag for us. Although so far the cold has been intermittent and this weekend looks like some crazy weather. I think I will do groceries on Friday and then hibernate until Monday.
Menu planning his week worked out well. Older son did 2 meals, younger did 1 and DH did So only 2 for me. I think Saturday it will be homemade pizza as we have some pizza flour to use up and the boys love pizza.Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

TGIF!! Finally! We have free tickets to a show at the casino tonight and free dinner with Comps. We are suppose to go to Kitchener/London tomorrow but I don't think that is happening with the weather. Fine with me. I can use a lazy day at home.
