@walkonby , tea with unpasteurized honey (which has antibiotic and antifungal prooerties) or just let that honey drip down your throat. I hope this doesn't turn into strep.
I did the salt/warm water gargle, some honey to coat my throat and used my Cepacol Lozenges.

This has been so weird, things went from uncomfortable to scary!
I was convinced it was strep, I've had it before.
But then....I developed a fever ( 100.7 F ) , got shivers, shakes, body aches all over...from shoulders, back, buttocks and legs.
A slight headache, nausea ( but no upchucking ) and I slept straight through for over 10 hours, waking up feeling no better.

    Phooey!
    Off to Emerg I went.
Long story short....( I was there for 3 hours ) got a throat swab for strep, an antibiotic prescription and a Covid-19 test.
Will be in self isolation for 72 hours.

    Scary stuff!!

My sweet Friend, it's also the beginning of flu season, so perhaps with your strep throat you were an easy target for a flu germ. I can't and won't believe it's anything more than that.

Rest and although I want to say "don't worry", I know you must be scared.
I wish I were there for you...I make a mean chicken soup.

I'll keep you in my prayers..we'll form a prayer circle here for you and make you well again.

Big, gentle hugs, Walks.....from all of us...

Yes, that why I used it; I used to be a primary grades teacher.

Sure hope that things are better for you!

    Hi!

Have spent most of the day on the bed, not necessarily IN it. Husband wanted to clean in the kitchen, so I don't argue about that arrangement, though I do get tired of being in one room.

I mostly listened to radio and read. Or stared at the wall. Had an upset stomach, hing this day three is the end of it.

Husband's family will have a Liturgy for Mom Friday evening. I was hoping they would have a get-together. Only thing I really worry about is them keeping their distance - I don't know how careful they are with all this.

    Take care, everyone!

@walkonby - nasty! Hope the meds are making you feel better. It's poopy when you're sick and people can't be there to pamper you and hold your hand! We'll do it virtually. Hugs!

I went shopping for fruit and veggies at a local farm shop called Herley's. It's certainly not a cheap joint but OH the corn was incredible! I bought some gladiolas that I love but always remind me that back to school and fall are just down the road.

Then we stopped at a favourite clothing shop which sells end of lines of really good labeled products. I bought a generic t-shirt for $4.00 and a very nice 3/4 sleeve shirt (black and white -my go-to) that will be great with a sweater or scarf for church h or shopping. ($5.00) I also bought a golf type shirt for my brother R as his birthday is coming up. He loves to look up weather-related stuff and I found him a "Canadian Weather" book -pretty well unused -regular -priced $24.99 for $3.00 at Goodwill on Friday. Also picked up a really nice double-matted frame and print for $8.00. I will use it to re-frame a family photo.

    Happy camper!

BTW- @Lynn49 will you all be at camp for Labour Day or home getting ready for school?

Then I have been doing laundry and tidying up after a crazy week.
I re-potted some basil that I had been trying to grow and some that I had been given by my friend.

I chopped and froze the rhubarb that my friend had given me a couple of days ago.

I guess it's no wonder that I am tired.

It's a "Bones" binge evening with my friend.

Have a safe and enjoyable evening.

^^^ @cabmonk you are incredible!! Such a variety of exercises. Most people have put weight on during this pandemic but you've pretty much stuck to your guns and from the looks of you it has paid off! Congrats my friend!

lol thanks I keep trying. I’m around 214lbs when I weighed a few days ago. Tomorrow I’m back at the gym for their hiit class, weights, core and treadmill. I’m starting to add some chicken and turkey back to my diet. I’m trying to focus more on a low calorie density diet. Corn tortilla wraps 50 calories each I can have 4 of them lol. Then 2 chicken breast at 250 calories. Then load up on lots of veggies. Even French toast made with egg whites. No red meat though still. Or I can put some chicken on my salad. To maintain my weight I need like 3000 calories lol. To lose it’s between 2000-2500.. my bmr is 2100 which is the minimum I need to just properly sustain normal body functions.

hope you had a good weekend. Just resting today.
