We just passed the Queen Mary in the middle of the sea-the horns were blaring and we were all shouting, waving and taking pictures!! Doesn't take much to get us world cruisers excited.

Morning!
So a little brag.... Last year during the ice storm we found out the hard way that our sump pump was not working. We did a quick fix with a borrowed cheap pump... Had a plumber recommended by my brother in law that I had to call a few times and he said he was coming "on Friday afternoon" and never showed up. Had a new plumber we were going to call but kept putting it off and then I thought we should wait till after this thaw.
DS said he was researching pumps and found deals and we went and bought a new pump afterwork yesterday and he installed it as soon as he got home.
He said he has installed a few with work so I asked him why he only mentioned it now lol. Thank-full that is done and saved so much $$$! Will buy DS a new tool for payment! (he is all about the tools lol)
Have a massage in 30 mins so guess I better have a quick shower. My RMT has been messaging with openings for weeks but I've just been to busy/or unable to book a week away since I didn't know my schedule. Slow time for her this time of year so glad I was able to go finally to help her out.
Have a great day!

Good Morning,
No freezing rain here but we do get a small thunderstorm last night, just two loud cracks, enough to wake me up.
This time changes is really hitting me hard, Sunday/Monday I thought I was doing well but I always forget it is a few days out it hits you.
Yesterday I was in Head Office for a meeting and to get some programming added to my laptop they forgot to add (I am working on designing new forms for our some of our printing needs, but they did not load the designer program). Of course, my laptop rejecting the program, threw a bunch of errors, they were able to clear them but then the download failed twice. It worked the 3rd time but I ended up being in the office until almost 4 pm, which was not the plan. Needless to say I am feeling very behind today.
After work I ran to Costco, not going to lie, I did not want to go but there were a couple things on the list we really needed (yogurt), so off I went. Well I was there I got another $5.99 day old cooked chicken which is now in the fridge. So will use that up or freeze it.
Trying my best to get caught up before my afternoon meetings, but the emails just aren't stopping today. What can you do, we will see where the day takes me.
Happy Wednesday Everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Talk about a thunder crack to jolt the life out of us!? DS and I converged ( him running down from upstairs, me coming up from the basement ) in the living room. We both had our " WTF was that " face on. One of our cats was still fast asleep in his bed, the other one ran from my side in the basement and goodness knows where he hid out? DH slept through it all! ha ha I'm unsure what time it was, maybe 6:30 a.m.
Funny thing about this was there was NO RAIN. And then all of a sudden it came down in heavy sheets, lasting maybe 2 minutes.
@Frugalbigmama I relished your sump pump story. How wonderful that your DS gained the knowledge and know how to install it. I would also buy my kid a power tool for doing that!
@SassyAshley you've been in a terrific place getting so many things done ahead of time ( at home ) so I hope this work snag doesn't throw you off course.
Today I was arguing with myself. Did not feel like going out, BUT at Metro it's the last day of the sale for the guys 2L cartons of milk. Plus I wanted to buy 5 more boxes of those incredible Date filed cookies from WM ( also last day of sale ). Realized then my prescription was ready for pick up....so out I went in the rain. ( drizzle really ). Not sure why I resisted doing these simple errands. I hit all the green lights, got a spot in front for parking at all the stops. Now I'm back
home and patting myself on the back.
Enjoy HUMP DAY All!
Forgot to mention that I heard gas is going down by 6 cents overnight!! Luckily my tank will be ready for a fill up then !Last edited by walkonby; Wed, Mar 11th, 2026 at 11:17 AM.

Your reminders about this are appreciated. Still... for me at least, saving them has become much less important than it used to be. A few factors... 10% instead of 20%; no more offers on chicken, beef, etc.; it no longer seems possible to stack two of the same offer. Accordingly, I earn A LOT fewer points from my personal offers than before.

There are local pages for giving away free stuff, but they’re barely utilized. One church in town runs a free clothing program for the community. Since people don’t buy the lots of kids clothes that I’d post for great prices, I now donate the clothes to this church program. I’ll also pick up free clothes from there for our family. I have had good luck getting clothes for twin girl there. The church clothing program is open two evenings each month. When we go there we gather the empty hangers and sort them to help the official volunteers, because everyone just takes the clothes and leave the hangers on the racks.

I wanted to share a Sobeys deal that I got this week.
I did two transactions to maximize my spend $60 earn 900pts offer, which I can use 4 times this week.
Lean ground beef 3x family pack $41.05 (after 3x $8 stickers) + 2200pts earned. 100pts/$5 family pack ground beef, points count before the $8 discount sticker balance. It worked for the spend $60 offer because it counted the total before discount stickers. I do not know if it’d work the same way with 50% off stickers, so I did the other transaction differently.
$55.48oop and earned 1,605pts. The spend $60 to get 900pts still worked. I used 2x Buddig FPCs.
50% off stickers on milk (this milk tastes old, 2 days before best by date), yogurt, graham crackers.
All of this was from my personal offers.
$1.99 Taylor farms salad kit + 100pts
$2.49 graham crackers 50% off + 100pts
$9.99 raspberry jam 1L + 200pts
$2.29 Pearl barley + 100pts
$6.09 eggs 18ct + 165pts + 3AM
Bananas + 20pts/$1 - $0.25 Eclipsa (don’t know if I’ll actually get that money)
$2 unsweetened apple sauce jars (I was running low) we eat unsweetened apple sauce, but I also use it in my baking.
$0.99 Kraft Parmesan cheese 125g (short dated & in my freezer)Last edited by Angela273; Wed, Mar 11th, 2026 at 12:47 PM.

Good Afternoon Everyone,
@walkonby, Mom and I said the same thing about the first crack of thunder, to me it sounded like the world's largest tree cracked.
I had to go into the branch for my afternoon meeting, on my way I stopped by the post office to drop off some stuff for Mom and my Old Navy order came in which is actually for Mom. She said she needs leggings that are more snug the baggy ones aren't working for her anymore and since Active Wear was on sale this past weekend I decided this was my chance. I have a feeling she won't like some of them but let's try them and once I know which styles she likes we can order more.
I also ran into No Frills since it was the last day of the sale to see if they had strawberries, they did. Grabbed 2 packs.
Spent most of the afternoon in the office and then on the way home saw Mom needed gas so I decided to fill up since I had a points offer.
Now it is time for the million dollar question, what's for dinner.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Good Morning Everyone,
Still dealing with this time change, I feel like my body is not adjusting quickly this time around, but we are pushing forward.
I must say nothing in the flyers we need or is calling me to go shopping so think I will skip it until next week and then might just pick up a few fresh things. We have what we need for the weekend.
Today I will be focusing on work stuff, trying to get caught up and maybe try to tackle a few house things so I don't have to do them on the weekend.
