We went to a picnic yesterday and then a pool party and spent all day out in the sun. We were exhausted by the time we got home. This was what I made
Sandiwch on sourdough bread with hummus, marinated artichoke hearts, cucumbers, vidalia onions, tomatoes, butter lettuce and grated vegan blue Sheese. We had nectarines and popcorn (who knew popcorn made an excellent picnic food!) on the side and I made some Peanut Butter Fudge for dessert. They served a cake at the picnic but it was not vegan so hubbie had a piece for me and he was happy

Last night I was at Super C and bought a 2 kilo bag of cheese totellini for $10. Not bad it's from Villa de Ravioli so not a 'generic' brand, anyhoo, I'm thinking I will make a carbonaro sauce for it because I have some bacon. So I'll fry it up nice and crispy. Yup I just talked myself into that. LOL

Last night I had some kind of pasta dish that I'd frozen. It was really good actually, it had spinach and ground beef and cheese in it. Too bad I forgot that DH can't eat that pasta (he has a strong sensitivity to sulphites in food, which is in all regular dried pasta, so he has to eat rice pasta) and now he is super sick
So he won't be eating supper tonight....probably just make a can of soup or something for me and the kiddo.<center><embed src="http://www.widdlytinks.com/myfamily/silhouettes/silhouettefamily.swf" flashvars="t1=The Bernard Family&pv1=0&pn1=6&px1=251.55&pf1=1&pv2=0&pn2=22&p x2=186.8&pf2=0&pv3=0&pn3=12&px3=305.85&pf3=1&pv4=1 &pn4=9&px4=278.8&pf4=0&pv5=1&pn5=3&px5=226.8&pf5=1 &pv6=0&pn6=1&px6=102.8&pf6=1&pv7=1&pn7=24&px7=317. 8&pf7=1" quality="high" wmode="transparent" name="My Family Silhouettes" allowscriptaccess="samedomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" align="middle" height="230" width="500">

Today we just had some scraps....not much of anything good.
I was wondering if anyone else likes strange food combinations.
I love toast with Jello (take a bite of toast & a scoop of jello, it's sooo yummy)
I think of Jello as a breakfast kind of thing & there is only one other person I know (outside of family) that does the same thing.
Tomato soup w. can corn kernels - kind of weird but nice on a cold day
Fried peanut butter sandwiches - this is awesome! Make a peanut butter sandwich and butter the outside and fry like a grilled cheese sandwich - really tasty.....(I think Elvis used to like them) LOLWant to be like Redmouse? * Join me here at SC * Tell them Redmouse sent you!!

It's 31 degrees here, no air conditioning, no air flow through anywhere (duplex) - so I'm thinking cold cereal? sammies? I ain't cookin' nuthin'!!!
(Who am I kidding? I know that in a few hours I'll whip up something spectacular and hearty for my hardworking husband who comes home totally ravenous!)
But at this point, I'm melting and could care less.... I just want a jumbo Freezie!

I am going to the Coldplay concert tonight so DH is on his own for supper. I might grab a quick veggie sub from Subway or eat after the concert when I get home.
Weird cravings...peanut butter and blackstrap molasses...I love it because it brings me back to my childhood when my mom gave it to us Defenitely not for everyone!
