We BBQ' d burgers.
Burgers and Fries last night with a big salad. Tonight was Sausages, French Toast made with raisin bread and sauted fresh apples with syrup. Yum...Yum.... :)
DH was out, so I made salmon for DS and I had leftover other stuff.
Last night, my wonderful husband made sarma for us, it was wonderful. Gave lots to our son to take home, and we'll have the leftovers tonight for supper.
Dinner-hmm. Better start thinking about a plan as I am the only one home today so will be expected to serve it in 8 hours!
Tonight is going to be BBQ Ribs, Rice and Fresh Carrots/Cauiflower :)
Wow I haven't posted in a while but don't worry we've been eating ;)
I've been busy working and being very sick with bronchitis :(. Now that I'm feeling way better it's back into the kitchen.
I've done more osso bucco and risotto (man I love that stuff :P), a Thai style lettuce cups ( one with chicken and one with shrimp), frekideller(Danish meatballs).
Tonight I'm going to grill some corn on the BBQ with some streaks and roasted taters. I'm also going to be making a tomato & cucumber salad (the tomatoes are from Kwantlan university's horticultural program) they are both cheap and SO DELICIOUS!!!!! And for dessert, creme brûlée :P
I suppose best way to describe it is very meaty cabbage rolls, Serbian-style - traditionally done with sauerkraut leaves, with a mixture of ground meat, rice, and seasonings.
However, buying the cabbage leaves is very expensive, so we just add sauerkraut to the pot.
We mix up a 1/2 kilo each of ground beef and ground pork (though this last time used all ground pork), add some raw rice, garlic, s+p, Vegeta seasoning - and make rolls out of them. Put in giant pot of water, bring to a boil. After a while, add tomato paste (or sauce or soup) and 1/2 jar of sauerkraut. Needs close to two hours to cook.
It's SO yummy!

Tonight, in one big roaster, cut up chicken pieces, lots of potatoes, onions slices; just checked it, 3/4 way done, just turned over the potatoes and left the lid off to brown the chicken. Will serve with peas.
Sent the guys to work with a mish mash of leftovers, a bit of pressure cooked steak with onions, steamed veggies, baked butternut squash and beets. I had the basa again with same veggies. That means I have to create new dishes again.....hmmm there might be an early morning cook off tomorrow.
Chili Fiesta Sloppy Joes from the Mennonite Cookbook. Good, but needs more seasoning for my taste.
Here's last nights dinner except I grilled the tomatoes and left out the cucumbers. I'll post dessert pics later.
Have not posted in forever dinner has been a lot of whatever we can grab but as of this week we are back on track with proper dinners:
Sunday: Quinoa Eggplant Parmesan Casserole (New recipe, was ok but I would add more seasoning next time)
Monday: BBQ Pork over mashed potatoes with a side of Cucumber
Tuesday: Grill'em sausage with roasted potatoes and roasted balsamic zucchini eggplant and mushrooms
Tonight will be homemade burgers probably with over baked fries and a side salad.
Roast pork loin, roast potatoes and Asian salad from the school chef.
What a smell in here!! ( a good smell )
Started up a few things for the weeks meals. I roasted a NF pork rib roast, boneless. ( it was 30% off so I could not leave it there! ) Removed the roast and added just a few of those " white death " potatoes to cook and crisp up. Made a yummo quinoa mixture adding diced sauteed onions, red pepper and grilled chix breast pieces, and thickened it making a sauce with just 0% fat Greek Yogurt and water.
Did more of the stuffed chix breasts with that stove top dressing inside ( for the kids ), the usual suspects for veg....beets, butternut squash, and I am hoping the guys will put together and toss their own salads up, because this afternoon I am juicing.
Bon appetite everyone!
Oh and harbie!! That pic of the grilled meal looked oh so inviting!
Leftover chicken and potatoes from yesterday (puh-lease, could my husband get his appetite back? - he only had like three pieces of chicken!), will make a salad to go with.
trout fillet i got at 30% off at Maxi + maybe some salad
Chicken kabobs, crash potatoes and salad.
crockpot chili to use up a bunch of stuff i have around the house.
suppose to be a very lovely day here...so bbq for supper..think I will grill some chops and make my mango salsa that I love so much (goes so good with pork). I have my patio furniture all set-up so dinner on the deck; maybe a glass of wine..hello weekend!
^ reminds me, we have to fill propane for the bbq!
Tonight, homemade chicken noodle soup.
I just found a recipe for steamed, pork stuffed Dim sum buns so I might try that as we have leftover cooked pork.
