oh boy. I'm about to embarrass myself big here (LOL), but what is an oxo mandolin???

Tonight we had Oktoberfest sausages, perogies and the first corn on the cob of the season.

Gotta say I am really dreading how the cost of food is going to skyrocket. We've had so little rain here that most farmers have already called the insurance companies about their field corn crops....which means animals fed on corn are going to be a whole lot more expensive when they go to the butcher in the fall and the cost of meat is gonna rise. Not to mention that there's no hay for them either. Between that and the fresh produce we won't have (apples, pears, cherries etc that bit the dust because they flowered and then there was a frost)...ugh...my wallet is groaning already.

I sliced off a slice, yes a slice, of a finger a month ago doing carrots.
Must be mega-careful with them, they are so sharp!

ninna, I'm thinking lots of food prices are going to rise as well.

How is tofu feta? Is it crumbly still or more rubbery?
