Last night was pizza and salad with pomagrantes on top and I also made a roasted butternut soup so we had that. I'm planning on making "refrigerator soup" tonight with a bunch of leftovers. Maybe I'll. A,e some cheddar scones to go with

Following up on our prime rib roast discussion, I did look at the store today and saw a small one( around 800 grams) for $24-so definitely not cheap. But I did spend the same on 2 Chinese takeout dishes on the weekend so we have had our treat already. Instead I found a pork picnic roast (for pulled pork), a sirloin beef roast and a whole marked down chicken -all 3 cost me $25.00 so that will be many more meals than one prime rib roast.
Tonight's menu will be roast chicken, baked potatoes and carrots and apple crisp.

This evening we had pork chops baked in the oven coated in those corn flake crumbs..mashed potatoes, corn and out of the leftover beef stew made like a pot pie with a pastry topping..and lots of wine and a butter pecan cake with cream cheese icing ..But I'm trying to quit sugar so I didn't try the cake just the wine

last night we had broiled polluck with perogies (store bought, not home made. I don't have the patience for homemade ones!) and steamed broccoli.
Tonight I made a sweet potato and apple soup--which I have never made before--and we had garlic bread on the side (just in case the soup was awful and we needed to fill up on something else. LOL!). Wowee. The soup was super spicy even though curry was the only seasoning. But I would totally make that soup again."Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken." Oscar Widle

I've made a squash/sweet potato/carrot soup before that had curry in it, quite good. But I've never found a curry that really makes it hot.
Unfortunately my family isn't all that keen on soup except for potato soup (not sweet potato). Never thought of adding apple.

A&W coupons in the mail today, so that was supper.
I had a teen and onion rings; husband two papas and fries.
Fries were not wonderful, lots of them left from two packages - that never happens!
I have a 1/2 burger and some rings left for me tomorrow.

.....pan fried cod was the main course with boiled potatoes mashed with lots of butter & milk (okay, maybe some sour cream dolloped on top) ... pan fried cod tongues (I'm sorry I can't get past the jelly part, I pick that off)..calamari, pot after pot of deep fried yumminess..mmmm.,,.that is my favorite part ..baked maple beans done in the oven..and the freshest bread right out of the oven doused in molasses.....I didn't have the molasses or the beans ( sugar...) so mostly I had pan fried cod and mashed potatoes! ..and calamari...

Made French toast for husband - 10 slices. He'll have to eat something later, it won't be enough for him.
