forget the first part of the message you typed, my mouth is still wide open in shock at both your parents ages and they still host a Thanksgiving crowd? Kudos to them both. If that isn't a real blessing I don't know what is. Now, one reason I was so happy about the reduction in hydro for you, is it kind of reminded me that people who may qualify to get this benefit probably never apply for it. You were so wise to try, I mean the worst they say is sorry you don't qualify right? Not that I am hurrying you to be 65 BUT that next savings on taxes will be so welcomed. Our funny overly processed dinner was delicious, the 3 of us laughed all through it. Clean up was a breeze too!

congrats on getting a break on your hydro bill! Fantastic.

guess what my sister is making right now? Chicken Adobo, I gave her the recipe. She and her DH loved the batch that I made them back during the whole covid lock-down.
Filling their freezer with all kinds of stuff was so much fun. That was our way of saying ty to them for sharing their Netflix and Disney passwords. We had it all free for about
3 years then they stopped allowing the sharing, so we subscribe now.

I ran the idea of them by my sister and she said " make them! " ha ha

Your positive reinforcement and kind words really cheer me up! Today has been a BAD day. Not diet wise, that I am crushing. It's this darn root canal....performed at 10:30 this a.m.
Figured it'd be better, seems I forgot about the shooting pain post-op. Once that freezing wore off I entered hell.
Long story short, dentist faxed a script. over to the Pharm here. ( after I pleaded my case over the phone around 3 p.m. )
By then the guys had left for work, so insulted I had to "WALK! in the rain to get it....wah!!!
Wise to grab the bull by the horns to drop that 50 pounds. Once you've decided and stay focused on the health benefits, things fall into place.
You've got the benefit of being able and willing to exercise, that can aid the loss. I will be a cheerleader for you too!
Shhhh, don't tell my body, but it's been 23 pounds now! The less it knows about what I'm doing the better!! ha ha

yeah, I have temporarily ditched both the Mozzarella and the pepperoni on my pizzas. Instead I use both Mini Bocconcini balls ( I sliced them up ) and crumble a few grams of Feta...the feta adds the saltiness...yummo!

true...many appy's are improved once they take a swim in a dip!

you will not regret making that pizza dough, and don't be fooled by them saying you need full fat Greek yogurt, I used a cheaper brand called Sufra ( Halal ) and it was a Greek style 0% fat, probiotic and plain and it worked just fine. It was also nice and thick, not a runny yogurt.
I was always paying more for the brand names ( Liberte and Oikos ) the large tubs as high as $6.50 , while this Sufra brand was under $3.00 ?? Go figure eh.

The weight loss, I could not ask for better results! 17.5 pounds gone since Jan 19th...woo hoo! The blood testing is perfect now. For the before a.m. meal today I had a 5.4 reading!! I keep finding new ways to make food, eliminating most of the really bad stuff and swapping for ingredients that add flavour instead.
Spinach huh? Yup, I bought just a small clam-shell of baby spinach and like you I am trying to add it to things before it wilts and goes off.
I seem to be pizza obsessed atm.... I've gone from cauliflower crust to using Lavash sheets and now I make 4 individual sized pizza servings from the dough recipe that requires just 2 ingredients! ( flour and Greek yogurt ) As baby bear would say " THIS IS JUST RIGHT! "

Just an FYI...your lasagna with spinach looked so darn yummy! I usually put spinach in mine, not just for nutrition but also for the bright colour!

lol!!! sharing is what I always did before covid came, so the temptation of us eating too much of anything was reduced. However, since all this started I've had to wait until a holiday came around where the kids could come up, and then fill their backpacks on the way out with stuff! Aren't those large bags of flour a great buy? ( when the sale is on I mean ). Such a sleepy day for me here, yawn.....

It is a form of therapy for me during all my fearfulness during covid.

I am sure the price today for that " too much for me " on the alcohol. Doesn't take much. This a.m. was pasty mouth and feeling oh so sluggish. Sipping from large tumblers of water since I got up. My 2 guys can be bugs sometimes. Happy 2022....so far?

omg! that did turn out to be fun! I refer to that as food crafts. Isn't it weird that most guys ( well, that I know ) always cut the stuff too big? I swear my own DH does not know the definition of small diced. We're just laying out our NYE nosh, buffet style. Then we'll take our plates downstairs to watch Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen.
Let me rephrase that....I will watch, the guys will make snide comments all night long....oh brother!

I also forgot to mention about the sausage rolls that you need to remove the casings from the sausages before you wrap them in pastry. o.k. I won't bug you anymore....lol

we both have been so emotionally depleted all day once we heard the news of the cancellation. This Omercron is a nasty, nasty variant, we are ALL going to catch it, that is what the news ( 680 ) is reporting now.

I use frozen pie crusts all the time now, but used to feel guilty about it....why? You turkey pot pie sounded delicious!

it is ALL done! ( the bathroom reno ) and i have showered 3 times in it already and I STILL feel like i am showering in a fancy hotel or something....ha ha. Your DH stepped up because you asked. It is my worst trait....I often just don't ask. Life is certainly easier with helping hands!!

yes and Canada did their thing!! Winning the first game is great!! Power with his hat trick! and Bedard? wow, what talent at such a young age.
We ate of course while watching the game even after we swore we would not eat again till the New year! ha ha ha So much Xmas food.

the cookie sheet I used measures 12" x17" from outside edges BUT the inside is less....11.5" x 15.5" . the recipe said to use a 9" x 13" pan, but I just grabbed one that I thought would fit. Also they are not joking about the phyllo pastry shrinking back some, as they suggested allowing the phyllo pastry edges to fall just outside the actual pan on all sides. Oh and also, the recipe did not do this but once all my pieces were lifted out into various containers for serving and storing, I drizzled honey over all of them. Thin threads of honey for an extra sweet kick. Good luck

drooling over baklava, we could be related....lol. This looks like a lot of baklava right? With the 5 of us and my sis here at Christmas that pan will disappear!

ha ha !! those are some great baking memories. We try don't we? As far as going to actual live games...pftt! who can afford that? We never took our kids to any. One time our eldest gifted us a pair of Leafs tickets, ( so-so seats ) but tbh, I prefer to be at home where I can rewind and watch what I missed.
