Very unusual first day of winter here - got awful freezing rain overnight.

It's plus two now, that's the high for the day. Winds up to 50 are on the way, temp this aft to minus three, with snow.

..its fairly mild here today -1 feels like -7, not much wind and no precipitation , the sun popped out for a few minutes earlier to say hi

...Happy Tibb's Eve to all!!! We got so much rain yesterday that most of our precious snow is gone...but on the bright side after this mild spell there's nothing but lots of cold and snow for the new year!! +6 feels like 2

Snow and blowing snow expected for Saturday.

Snow, strong southeasterly winds, and blowing snow are expected to start over southwestern Newfoundland Friday night and spread to all of Newfoundland by noon Saturday. The Great Northern Peninsula and the Northeast Coast can expect snow through much of the weekend with strong northerlies and colder temperatures returning on Sunday. The rest of Newfoundland should see the snow change through freezing rain to rain or drizzle Saturday afternoon or evening before ending or changing back to flurries on Sunday.
